This is untrue. However, controllers weren’t intended to compete with mouse point-and-click.
They certainly are. If you releases a game on console, it is always assumed that they will be using a controller. For an FPS, that means options like linear or exponential sensitivity, dead zone size, and aim assist on/off. Illfonic took the easy way out on this, and they are certainly responsible for the difficulty of the aiming on console.
