Disc Re-work

They are not Impossible If the Fireteam is good. I can beat any pred that uses disk with high dpi when Im with guys like thunder, gesp etc. We have done that vs each other multiple times.

Thing is the players need to learn How to play differently vs disk users.

If you want to nerf disk then nerf something about FT to balance it, rework field medic and Tracker.

You shouldn’t punish other players just because some people are skilled at something. There being a handful of Godly Disc users in this game is no reason to nerf the damn thing. The problem right now is it could do with a damage decrease, like 90% of Fireteam’s weapons too, because of how easy it is to one shot a lot of classes. But people being actually good with the weapon to begin with is not a reason to nerf it. That’s not a game design issue, that’s a Skill difference issue.

go in 4 scouts without thick skin/owlf and tell me how “good” it goes for you

LOL Its same way as going with Scout pred using melee will never work vs Pc premades. You need to play with the right builds for what you are facing. And know how to play. If you want to use bad builds thats on you, not the disk or Pc FT premades. So since no Predator player can win vs premades with a melee Scout then it means we need to nerf Fireteam?

Or like If you use Scout with axe and complain If you lose 1v1 vs 1 good Fireteam with hammerhead.

Even then there are less than 10 Pc pred players that know how to use the disk to its potential. Everyone Else fails at It.

I don’t see the fact that a good Smart Disc user is able to hit 3-4 people in a single throw as a problem because outside of the base damage being 25 points too high, you can achieve the same affects with the Plasmacaster which deals only 5 points less than the Disc with a direct hit fully charged blast: and its standard on every class so you’ll always have it. Hell I’d venture to say the reason we have so little Disc Masters is because the Caster can achieve similar damage outputs in almost half the time and requires like 80% less skill to use so people will always fall back on it because it’s all around the Predator’s best weapon in the game right now. Both weapons can one shot almost half of the FT cast right now, and the Caster requires significantly less set-up and skill to do so. Disc Masters earned their power by taking the time to learn the much harder weapon. Just like 90% of Fireteam’s weapons, the Disc & Caster could do with a slight damage tweak or even better yet… just fucking give every FT member 25 extra HP by default and every Pred 250 extra HP. We all know damage is a problem right now and is kind of the only issue balance wise there is.

You can see his name. All good Disk users are known. But lets say its a New Guy, then you will lose 1 match out of dozens you won that day. Big deal. Its no different than all Predators that try melee and lose 1v1 cus a good Pc FT was in the match.

We cant balance an asymmetrical game. Look, if you want to balance melee weapons in a 4vs1. And pred kills 2 ft, then the melee weapon which is balanced for 4 players fights against 2. So its 2x as strong. You cannot balance it. Its either op or garbage. For example the melee weapons we have now are balanced for 2-3 ft players. But never against 4 (speaking of premades of course).
There should be other features. At first, there should be no perks that directly buff dmg or health.
My suggestion is that there should be some sort of honor / “rage” system. When you face 4 players you have “400%” dmg and health. When you down one you have 300%. I dont know how that would work out, but I think it could work.
A 4v1 cant be balanced as a 2v1. This is the rule of asymmetrical games imo

Idk about y’all but this seems like a decent idea. I would argue being able to rotate between the throwing modes, but this won’t ever happen, devs simply aren’t capable of programming a tracking disc as of right now. I have an idea as for doing it but that would take a long time programming it alone.

I think they should just give 1 disc to the Predator and make it indestructible.

But I do think that it should be standard in every game to place limits on rotation/look acceleration and speed, unless there is some reason why the characters would be superhumanly fast.

Given how hard the disk is to use, plus the myriad of reliability issues it has, I would be more inclined to provide an alternate version rather than ditching what we have now. It went from meme to useful weapon in the right hands. Why can’t pred have nice things? And the disk isn’t even that nice anyway given the aforementioned issues

Nerf because PC players don’t have a limit in turn speed.

So maybe then the solution is to impose some sort of limit? I’m not sure how that works

Idk all I know is console players have to max out their ADS speed to have like half the turn speed capable of what can be done on PC. There’s a video in another thread where this guy was able to turn the damn thing on a dime and I’m over here trying with all my power to to avoid 90 degree corners.

At how much DPI is it considered such a big advantage on PC I’m wondering ?

My mouse DPI doesn’t go as high to even half of what some guys use for disk. And since I’m not buying a new mouse just so I can have an advantage using 1 weapon in 1 game its just gonna stay that way. Plus when I do privates I try to have an agreement of no disk for pred and no tracker/pdls/field medics for ft to make it more fun and fair for both sides. I prefer the old combi+bow combo anyway.

depends on monitor resolution. for higher resolutions you need higher DPI

I’d say around 3500 DPI @ 1080P it becomes possible to do sharp turns that cannot be done on a controller
