Draining stamina means you lose stamina when you use it but if you don’t have that much stamina, you still use it, it just drains the rest. Costing stamina means you can’t use it if you don’t have the stamina to do so, allowing you to keep the left over stamina because you didn’t do the move because you couldn’t.
Hand to hand combat predator gets beat.
yea it’s sad… this game feels like 90% game mechanics and less than 10% lore. Butter knife stops 700+lb pred in its tracks
Ah yes you are upset clearly lol. It drains your stamina to empty. But you don’t need it to use your parry. Now I won’t throw the R word around but if that concept is above your head then perhaps it’s you that’s a bit slow friend.
Also me and I don’t know anyone else who has tried it can still infinite parry. Not sure why you are taking this personally as if you created the broken mechanic and are upset it doesn’t work.
The same way that draining health doesn’t cost health? Lol. Ok bud. Totally not a grossly retarded statement.
And yeah. That was the very first thing I tried when the Patch hit and I spent about ten minutes with two controllers, one on lover’s account as Predator and on mine as Fireteam and when I had stamina I partied every single strike but after two parries it would not parry and I don’t recall it even knifing but that bit may be a lapse of memory. I wouldn’t have kept playing if it allowed you to infinite parry and I haven’t seen anyone do so since on either side and I have played both Fireteam
and Predator quite a bit since.
And if you don’t know anyone who had done this what are you basing this off of?
Probably basing it off the video I posted further up the thread.
It’s reply 67… I think.
So if you watch that video every time you got exhausted you were able to regen stamina, the first time or two a decent chunk but the last time just a little bit. But at no point were you exhausted and parrying while exhausted.
Wait no never mind, you are correct. That last parry you did seem to be exhausted.
I hope that is a bug then like the leap smash hitting through structures. Not sure if it is but it should be fixed. I also think the exhaustion should last a couple seconds longer. But that is the first I have seen of that.
Not reading the whole thing cause you’re just mad for no reason. Think about it doofus. When you parry, it drains your stamina, but you don’t need stamina to parry. You can keep parrying with an empty stamina pool. You’re a moron if this doesn’t make sense to you
Ohhhhh so now you get it after calling me retarded over and over lol. What a douche
Yeah that last one is really suspect though, and either way you should really need the full cost of stamina to pull a parry off. I wasn’t even trying to hard to parry there, I was trying to shank him because I wanted to play around with knife damage.
Personally I want swords as a secondary weapon that is a strong as the knife is now, with the knife only being able to get one good parry in.
EDIT: Oh lol I should of looked before replying.
Nice work.
I am terrible with parrying–somehow I got panicked when I try to methodically parry a Predator…
…but today and this was a stroke of luck I managed to parry twice a Berserker and the person after the second parry (probably believing he was facing someone who knew the mechanics) opted to leap away and pursue another opportunity to attack…
Someone doesn’t know how to read or watch a video. His video proved that you can parry exhausted though even he believes that is ‘suspect’.
Regardless there are still counters to this and this doesn’t even entirely rebuke a number of the counters I proposed anyways and the rest are still potentially effective anyways. Granted that doesn’t mean the parry is fine with that apparent bug but it is still entirely feasible to work around that.
He also was kinda dumb too. You parry a Predator twice in a row and he keeps pushing while your whole team is alive and well nearby you got a dumb/angry Predator. I personally would have pulled back after the second parry, went around to flank your boys coming to help you, just take a couple shots and see what happens with it and then it drags out after that isolate you from range or when you aren’t near your buds to intercept me and take them out one by one or weaken you to a one tap then jump your ass before you even know I am there. Or net ya and call it a day lol.
Hell if I get parried once I immediately pull back some, even if it is one guy left, and take zero chances so I can secure that kill. Just a matter of not letting your own pride get the better of you.
I wouldn’t jump to conclusions on the Predator’s Melee yet. I’ve been adjusting my playstyle as the ‘87 Jungle Hunter (I.E. sexy looking Hunter Class) and I’ve had some tremendous success picking away at Fireteams. And instead of going ham on Melee Attacks and dying, I’d rather let a couple slip away and escape via the Chopper.
The Net Gun is phenomenal for interrupting Fireteams in anything they’re doing. The only time I go for a full 3-tap Melee is when they’re trapped. Otherwise, it’s a 1-tap and then Jump/Leap to reposition. If you’re just running in, then you’re already at a disadvantage.
And I’m not sure if y’all are aware of this, but the Slam Radius is a Sphere and not a Disc. Meaning, if a Fireteam is huddled together in a small Room trying to hide, just Slam the Ceiling and everyone inside will take Damage. Moreover, if you’re Slamming out in the open, you should immediately reposition and engage from another angle since they’ll be scrambling to focus on you.
Totally fine with you saying there are counters my whole point was infinite parry is not gone. Didint Argue that there are counters. All good dawg
Looking back I realized I did misconstrue what you originally said.
For some reason I thought you meant all I said was invalid not just that specific detail. My bad.
It’s all good man I got Aggro too for no reason my bad. You’re definitely correct about having counters though.
