Agreed I feel like I’m forced to use a perk slot on durability. I’m not sure if the combistick is great I didn’t get to play the beta but I feel like considering how I’m carrying a sword I should be doing some form of damage? Might just be the melee isn’t connecting to the player all the time but it feels like I have to over-commit to get the down on someone with a sword because it’s so weak. Honestly the play style feels like I’m forced to be using the plasma caster all the time because melee attacks are too high of a risk and not enough reward, but even with the caster thin branches and leaves take the shot that looked like it would have been a hit.

Noticed this as well but you can’t look straight down on a branch and shoot someone the branch you’re standing on takes the shot which doesn’t make sense since I’m looking down over the branch to shoot lol.

give it time. you will get better and remember you dont have to kill every single person every single time.

You “win” as predator if you dont die. if you get some AI and 1 fireteam thats a good result.

Most predators i see so far are jumping down in front of everyone and instantly regreting it.

Stalk prey. pick them off slowly. take your time

Tried that, they just spot me from three trees away while I’m invisible and then hunt me down which is kinda the predator’s role not the human’s. All my game’s either consisted of that or they just hide in buildings which, sure I can just wait the timer out, but that’s not fun.

its day 1. keep playing you will get better.

Hiding in buildings just use charged plasma shot.
if they chase you leap away, then activate cloak and stand totally still for 2 seconds. hopfully them chasing you will seperate them and you can pick 1 off. If they are chasing you then they are not doing the mission.

Get them when they are dealing with AI…

Just work on your stratergy and keep playing. you will get better

Oh yeah I intend to keep playing and trying to get better but when I say they camp in buildings I mean so well a charged plasma shot wont hit them, so I’m forced to either wait/get out of the trees and try to snipe them through the doorway exposing myself/charge in trying to melee them exposing myself, so far only waiting seems to work which is the most boring thing to do. I also was leaping away and turning invisible trying to hide but the whole time I was seeing the “spotted” alert while getting shot at so idk just feel like you shouldn’t have to resort to straight up fleeing to the other end of the map playing as an alien hunter with superior tech.

charged plasma does splash damage so you dont have to hit them just near them. and yeh sometimes the team is just good and you lose and somethimes they are bad and you win…

Cant win em all. if you live and get some AI then you get XP and level up etc. If they camp let them. they wont get much XP for that.

Yeah I fully charge my shots still wont hit them the building is too big but also has small doors so I can only hit them if I jump down from the trees to try and get a straight on shot into the building which leaves me exposed. I don’t intend on winning them all but that kinda seems like a lame way to play and maybe giving the predator a grenade would help if we are going to have buildings big enough for them to easily camp in.

Personally I find it hard to believe an advanced alien race wouldn’t have some form of grenade or concussing arc blast or something lol

yeah, sometimes they just camp. if thats how they want to play the game then thats boring for them too not only you. dont even do anything and they will move on or they will have a boring match.

It’s not about getting better, they nerfed the Baseline Predator’s durability too much.
Everything else is fine with some minor niggles but predator is supposed to be difficult to kill and durability perks don’t to much.
Basic Predator may as well be Scout Predator with how weak he is now.

Id be fine with the durability if i could kill anyone. Can someone tell me why the elder sword is just straight up a worse version of the wrist blades? That thing fucking SUCKS. " see me twirling my sword right infront of you, dont worry it wont hit you cuz it has doodoo range and does a tick of health damage " lol

Somebody please tell me theres something im missing about the sword… please.

If i had the bear trap to keep them in place for a few seconds maybe it would be actually good… but if they just walk backwords i cant hit them. Wristblade has better tracking

im not having too much of a problem with him. won most of my pred games so far. lost a few to some good teams and some to some mistakes

If im using wristblades to knock someone down and then leap out and charge shot them as they rez its fine… im just salty that the swords sucks lol

Regardless of how good or bad you are Hunter class is supposed to be the starting predator with the best balance of Durability and agility.
But without durability perks he gets shredded by base assault rifles and SMGs, the minigun or LMG is understandable but I should not be able to gun down the freaking Predator within a single magazine that wasn’t even extended or high caliber rounds.

I feel like we should be able to grab a player and take them into the woods and skin them and hang them off a tree. Then their objective changes to go a find and rescue their teamate.

It would give the predator a way to control a zone, right now it feels almost like im being hunted and not the other way around.

you dont get gunned down by 1… its if you get infront of all of them. if you did that you messed up

Yeah one player doesnt seem to gun you down, but they can take a good third of your health off… esspecially if they have that DMR sniper

No I have tested with friends in private matches.
1 basic assault rifle and standard mag guns him down with zero effort.
No headshots, no damage output perks, I should not be able to do that, I don’t expect the Hunter to be absolutely bullet proof but as it stands I could 1v1 him with my eyes closed and 1 hand tied behind my back.
The point of asymmetric multiplayer is for the killer to be OP and require a team of coordinated members with a variety of loadouts to compensate.
The second I a human can rush the Predator with a shotgun shouting “Leeroy Jeinkins” and actually kill him is the second he is too squishy.

I honestly wish it wasn’t, even with all durability perks the most that will do is make me have to reload maybe once but that’s if I don’t land headshots and it doesn’t take a whole lot to shot the mask off.
Even without the Yuujra’s bane perk which really shouldn’t be there anyway.
The objective is to SURVIVE the Predator and get the objective done, we have military issues guns we don’t need perks that make us do more damage to the Predator especially when he’s as squishy as he is.
And this is the HUNTER class, not the super fast super squishy Scout the BASIC BALANCED HUNTER!
It’s not good when I have to actively search for players who have unlocked Berserker to get the experience of fighting the Freaking Predator
