I can imagine, I never use down range even though I’ve started using the bow and caster a bit more . Playing as fireteam I know how frustrating it can be , but I have no idea if they have buffed the splash damage? I was almost dropped with 3 quick shots just from the splash from the comms truck on overgrowth? They weren’t hitting me directly but as you said, maybe they used downrange
If it’s effective the majority of the time, then i couldn’t call if stupid.
Honestly the way the player base lately is you could run scout with wristblades only and have little difficulty. Everything is working because no one knows what they’re doing. Hell I’m soooo lazy with pred anymore

AOE got buffed a while back, maybe they should have added increased AOE after mid way charge?

Elder sword though… feel it has a PULL on FT trying to get away from it as well.
They definitely weren’t full charges , half way? Maybe . I used to run the elder sword for its speed , but I switched over to combi as it doubles up as melee and ranged . I see alot of people use the sickle? With the combi it just feels that trying to get away from it is tough

Its because they’re not confident they can hit anything using ranged. Once they start getting parried into stun into 3 second death or just knifed into a coma by 2 people while swinging slow garbage combos around they’ll learn
Real question is when are FT randos going to learn to just switch to knife and mash heavy attack with their eyes closed if they see a melee pred
For me personally there are so many people running around not really knowing what they’re doing 8 out of 10 matches are uncoordinated teams. 3 out of those 10 matches have one or two players that realize they can kill the predator fairly easily.
I’ve been running a lot of Valkyrie katana lately and having a lot of fun slicing potatoes. Any other time I have to hide and pop shots and pray to God I can get a kill without getting second winded. So for me it’s worth trying to power through a few matches that I’m out matched in if I’m just trying to have fun and melee.
I will admit I’m not that good at parrying, so it’s frustrating. I have to play smart and not be so agressive when I encounter those type of players in pubs when I’m solo. In a way it’s good, because it gives me a challenge. On the other hand, it burns a hole in my stomach when I die to those players.
As a “hybrid” style player…I feel for you. I suck so bad at parry I started trying to kite and i get really salty when I can’t.
But when I play pred…? Hahahahahahahahahahahaahahha! Elder sword go swosh

is annoying, brain dead, but what can we do? They get melted in 3 seconds against us and, lesson learned.
I no longer play solo FT because is frustrating, potatoes are even more braindead than most preds. Playing with a team is usually boring (game) but fun at the same time because we can try stupid shit plus we are always talking, cracking jokes, socializing, etc. I find the sweet spot in a 2 man squad. Will win almost all games but still a bit challenging.
If I have no one to play FT with, I’d rather play Pred.
