Mass, I don’t think I ever got your opinion on the Jamaican Civil War. @Fire you never asked him, did you?
Personally I think it’s a little microcosm of what might have happened if the Confederacy won in the US, but then went on to entirely conquer the Union and the North.
I mean, the Confederacy of Southern Jamaica outright copied the flag and name, obviously taking large inspiration from the US’s counterpart. See below the flag of the CSJ and formerly of the new Jamaican government, before the swapped to their current flag:

Yeah, damn shame that it’s not taught about more cause it was overshadowed by the events of WW1. Really interesting strategies that arose due to the unique environment.

Thing is, it was actually effective as weed causes a measurable drop in reaction times.
However this advantage was more often than not negated by soldiers on the other side lighting up to relieve the effects of wartime stress.

Well it does, but I’m not surprised that you don’t know this given that the JCW was overshadowed by the events of WW1, as the conflict lasted only from 1915-1917, while the vastly more popular WW1 which happens from 1914-1918.
Weren’t you taught about Canada’s involvement during primary schooling?

Mass I’m not making shit up. The jamaican civil war was fought by 2 factions, the Confederacy of Southern Jamaica (CSJ) and the NJF (North Jamaican Force). The CSJ used the flag called the Jamaican Dixie Jack, pictured below this , while the NJF used an upside-down british flag.
I literally just pulled this image off of the Wikipedia page.
The conflict was bloody and new tactics being created to suit the environment was the key to the CSJ’s success. As for the politics, the NJF was a succesionist force that wished to remove Jamaica from the British empire, and as they went on the offensive first, they had a good lead. The NJF was financially supported by Canada, as they were sympathetic to the cause of gaining independence from colonies. The CSJ was created by a group of British loyalists who were being financially incentivized by the British Empire. After routing the NJF from South Jamaica in early 1916, they pushed forward and by late 1917 they had completely conquered the entirety of Jamaica and reunited it under the new Jamaican government.
They flew the Jamaican Dixie Jack until the early 1960’s, when they were granted full independence from Britain, and the flag was redesigned. The green and black triangles were switched, the stars were removed, and the X was changed from a gold outline to full gold to commemorate the independence. The effects of Britain’s support can still be felt to this day, as those financially incentivized families made the most of having conquered an entire island, and their descendents are aristocracy and traditionally hold positions of high power within the Jamaican government.
Apparently the reason you never learned this is Canada denies any involvement and blocks searches of the civil war as a way to prevent their people from knowing the truth.
