New Pred Metas??

I fought 2 predators with ghost. First one was running the axe and the other the Katana. The axe with heavy attack is 1 shot most of the cases. Even support with thick skin if he get’s some damage before you slice him up goes down. Some AI or plasma blast and then leap to him and heavy attack, just make sure he can’t see you coming since if he is decent, avoiding the axe is not really that hard.

The other guy with Katana did hit and runs, 1 slice is about 80 damage (adding bleeding) so its quite easy to do hit and runs and drain the resources they have really badly.

I ended up winning both games but I with more practice I think this is really deadly. Now I was in randoms but I did had some PC users who were not bad in both games (and 1-2 on console). Probably not going to work if you find a skilled premade but with normal teams, its pretty good.

Am i the only one here who is wondering what all these builds(that you guys are posting) are actually meant to work against? I mean what kind of Fireteam setup are these “New Pred Meta builds” suppose to be effective against?

The new patch was recently released and i understand that some specializations and build may seem overpowered right now. But if you ever fight against well coordinated premade Fireteams you should know that they adapt very fast to Predator changes. Imo it’s a bit early to tell what’s op and not.
And if you only play public hunt matches and end up with potatoes 90% of the times then i understand how many builds that have been posted here may work well. 😁

Several people say: “Ghost is op”, but if the FT brings ACIG’s and/or Mines then the specialization suddenly becomes useless. Now that the Smoke Grenades are good for nothing(since the Pred gets 3x Smart Discs) the FT will start consider bringing other gear instead of those smokes, to counter certain builds/loadouts. This way of thinking goes for several other specializations aswell.
People simply haven’t really had time to adapt yet.

So far My favorite build is alpha with assassin, bow, katana, healing kits and bear traps impenetrable, medic and large pouch. That’s the best for me, but other builds could work for other people :)

Seems like one of the new Metas is the exploit Jungle Hunter with Disciplined and dithered lens.
Met 6 different guys using it so far in just two days.

Elder with stalker might seem like a meta if you go on pubs matches cus they just stand in the open waiting to get shot but top FT players know how to counter it, you are not going to win every match just cus you are using it. Sure its better than trying to use an melee build but the stamina and speed of the Elder is a set back. Doing one full plasma shot is enough to give away your position and have most of your HP gone in 2-3 seconds if you are not careful. You get 1 guy down but the firepower of the rest 3 FT can kill you faster than you can charge the next one.

Jungle Hunter with fervert or tactitian is nice. They are situational but together with down range the damage is great. Same thing with City using tactitian or analytic. Disciplined is overrated, just removes the clicking. Footsteps, movement in trees, uav scanner, pdl gives the Predator position away anyway. If they removed all Predator sound it could be good.

Even with specs melee builds won’t work against great FTs. Now with Pred specs the game is just more balanced, if anyone thinks the Predator is OP now its cus they haven’t tried playing against great FT players.

I think it heavily depends on the Pred’s playstyle.
Take a Pred who only jumps/leaps instead of running, also knowing how to land silently, who rushes you directly at the start of the match with traps and dithered lens…
We fought 3 matches against a single guy yesterday and were indeed able to adapt to it quickly, but the problem is, that most players that I met, who know how to pull it off are already pretty good preds who make you sweat.

Removing all sound from disciplined is oppressive.
You’re basically just playing prophunt at that point.

Best scout build i’ve gotten to so far, the elder sword does wonders for hit-and-run attacks while I can pick off fireteams using the yautja bow with precision.

If you went up against at decent pred in a true 1v1, you’d come out on a losing end more often than not 😉
