I’m definitely against parry removal completely, but nerf the knife parrying damage…
Parry needs to get removed
Parry is not the issue, Melee damage is the issue and knife spamming lets you shwack the pred at least once after a parry and if you have 2-4 FT members doing it RIP. Preds also need to stop trying to Melee the FT’s and play smarter.
How? I try to play ranged but all they do is jump and jump over again until I try to melee them but then they pull out the knife. You can’t do anything smarter
Parry sucks, and “melee spam” is a nonsense claim. Melee spam is what? The Predator getting a kill by attacking with melee? I’m sorry but I fail to see why that shouldn’t happen?
Now, he shouldn’t be able to bum rush the whole team and just mow them down, but the idea that a single player should be able to completely shut down the Predator’s melee game and win a 1v1 fight in an asymmetrical game is just idiotic.
Nerf Knife damage and remove Predator stun. How does a 6’0 human use a 6 once knife to deflect a 20 pound alien club swung by a 8 foot alien monster stun the monster? Makes no sense.
If parry must be kept, it should be only a last ditch effort to stay alive long enough for your fireteam to intervene. Not a way to 1v1 the Pred.
Maybe instead of Parry cooldown, a stun cooldown. Once the Predator is stunned by parry, he can’t be stunned again for 3-5 seconds.
My fear with not removing the parry/stun is that when everyone has been playing a while, and can consistently pull of the parry, the Pred is just constantly stunned and then melee isn’t an option and it’s just marines shooting into trees and Preds shooting at the ground. Boring af.
They really need specialize the melee weapons for pred, combi is already aoe; war club needs to be the parry counter weapon, stunning the FT member instead of the predator; sword, wrist blade, and smart disc melee should apply a bleed that only a med kit can stop,
Just make the parry a specialization or perk like doing extra damage or better yet pull a dark souls and make a parrying knife. That way sweatlords can spam all they like and it doesnt fuck up balancing. It’s hard enough to kill 4 meth heads going on a bender in the woods
i really don’t get the whole parry thing… it works maybe 25% of the time for me if i’m lucky.
As FT
Make parry high excution. Knife should do very little damage. If he does a successful parry it’ll stun you long enough to get away. High risk reward problem sloved. There’s no need to remove it. Yea It’s pretty brain dead lol and it can cut the net gun mid flight too so they need to adjust it badly lol
I like the idea of a knife parry to be a perk.
I like the idea of parrying drains all the FT’s stamina or the knife breaks.

Im fine with parrying sometimes it can save a fire team. But The Predator should have the ability to counter parry if they time it right.
So many of preds hardest hitters run the risk of losing the item how about perry blocks and stuns but gets knocked out of marines hands?
Exactly right. Three lots of gunfire aimed at you depleting your health in seconds is definitely enough. There’s no need to add parry damage on top of that and then have a small knockback window where the predator can be stabbed without being able to react also. If they add a cool down to parry and give the knife wielder the same knockback it would balance this out.
Agreed, parry should either be taken out altogether, or a significant stamina / stagger penalty should apply to FT members.
As a gameplay mechanic, I get that something needs to be there for melee spam. But within reason, no human should be able to go toe-to-toe with a Predator without getting properly messed up…
