I get what you’re saying and I appreciate the necessity of adaptation. But, as I’ve said ad nauseam, this is an asymmetrical game. I don’t think the player should be completely helpless against the Pred, but if he’s separated from the team he should be more vulnerable. Anything he can do at that point should only be about staying alive long enough for the team to regroup and help him, not turning the tide on the Pred.
Nothing feels less Predator than getting punked by a 6oz knife.
As for switching tactics, well, I honestly don’t feel the mechanics are solid enough for that to be viable. If it works for you great. But for me, switching weapons or gear, even trying to aim the spear (edit: I’m talking about trying to do nay of this in the middle of a fight or after you’ve been stunned/parried) feels terrible and clunky. I honestly don’t know how people are making that work with the game in it’s current state. If it was sharper, smoother and more responsive then yes.
I still think the stun needs removed, or at the least the stun duration needs reduced, and the parry stamina cost should be higher. If we just absolutely MUST keep it…which ugh, no matter what anyone say I think it’s just the lamest, nastiest feeling mechanic in the game. Make the Pred vulnerable but don’t let him get punked by a knife. Just feels gross af.
