the point is that the original Predator character is a marriage between a real good character design by Stan Winston (the best in the character design work) and a total cool idea… but after years of movies and expanded universe something goes for the better, and something goes for the worst… i Really like the various preds, but AVP was alredy a bad writing when the trio was stupid and weak AF… REQUIEM has wolf but is an orrible movie, bad written and poorly maked… THE PREDATOR was at the end of the road of decline… they ruined the mistery behind one of the best alien species of the sci fi universe… Alien is going bad too but better than predator, terminator became ugly AF… PREDATORS is not so bad… not gold but ten way better than AVP2 and THE PREDATOR.
Preds we NEED
The predator is non-Canon yet alien & predator are gonna be merged thanks to Disney.
" just a normal yautja but bigger an stronger with the dullest design possible."
I wouldn’t say having a hardening skin, built in thermal vision and cloak etc is the dullest design, it’s incredibly cool how they improved the predator so he wouldn’t have to rely on outdated tech. That’s called EVOLUTION, as you know Yautja’s history, they did evolve since that enslavement by that other powerful race…
“Assassin/Upgraded is just a fu*king giant alien monster that could have come out from any trash movie with no ideas or budget. Big, strong, gray and overpower.”
Because he has the best collected genes from others races and implanted tech, how is that not cool, that is what I don’t understand? And him being a “Hulk” unstoppable monster is even scarier than the normal preds stalk / hunt, knowing that when you see this guy, there is NO winning (how he lost in the movie was the biggest BS and the only gripe for me really).
Why’s AvP1 bad? Could you please explain a bit more in detail what exactly in the script is so bad about that particular movie?
Why did you expect 3 unblooded predators to be any good? They went to get blooded and they failed, they sucked, not all predators are good at what they do just like humans.
That’s what I loved about the movies and stuff, finding out more about the Yautja, the mystery was honestly annoying, not knowing anything about them, where they come from, how their society and science works etc… Knowing and seeing that makes it a lot more interesting… Otherwise it’s just another alien slaughtering others for whatever the heck reason if you don’t know the info…
Predator and Alien universes belong to be married, I don’t see a problem with that.
I’m pretty sure is canon tho, you might not like it (I don’t like it too) but it’s canon.
the point is that he is not a pred anymore… predator is cool cause the mask, the gadgets, the hunt… all those upgrade change the behavior that make predators predators… so you can say is a cool villain, monster, enemy… but is not a conventional pred, with all the goodies and all the bad points… honestly i think fugitive is more interesting than assassin. even if assassin in bad and big…
different thing with the super predators, that are big and bad but pradators anyway
Saldy we do not agree, but it’s okay not always people could think the same thing.
is not a problem… but that must be done for well and with good taste. like in every movie… THE PREDATOR is not AVP and sucks worst than requiem
We do realize that there is a 4 armed predator in the Predators sequel comic, and in another, a predator mutated because of the engineer black goo
So the predator race is solely defined by a particular piece of technology that never changes? Interesting logic… I prefer the evolution method they did in the movie, way cooler for me :) They’re smart enough race to know that they cannot use the same things forever, if you want to get better you have to change and they want to get better at the hunt and killing.
I also loved the communication from the Upgrade Predator, how he talked to the humans and mocked / taunted them, made him scary (intelligent scary kinda way). I always wanted humans and predators to actually talk to each other, at least they did it there that way…
The Supers were a really cool concept (even if poor executed, coming from a Predators(2010) lover here), hope to see them again somehow
we could even assume they were that different because of genetic enhancement, but of different type.
True, we can agree to disagree :)
Why do you not like having Aliens in Predator universe? They fit in PERFECTLY.
in THE PREDATOR they take the same idea (a superior predator) and exagerate that… the movie is full of trashtalking… PREDATORS was the best choice for that concept… maybe a little low in terms of content… but cool
I thought those were just bad bloods, they still used old tech and didn’t have any Upgrade Predator stuff?
AvP II was shit, the movie was dark like in my ass… BUT Wolf is awesome… I like the way he mourns whe he find his dead friend in this spaceship. (1.33min) (and the lightning here is way better then in original movie)
It’s dead. Has been for a long time. RIP in peace TF2. RIP in peace Valve.
Just dropoing back in to remind people that Wolf sucks shit and that your corpse emperor is nothing before The Blood God, peace be upon him.
This right here, I feel the 1st movie made the Predator how it should. A creature that for the most part was hidden and inflicting terror into soldiers while picking them off, And how he figured out that Dutch was a trap. I also love how when he had Dutch pinned he decides to unmask him and have an honorable fight. The closest we get to this was probably the Pred trio in Predators (2010) but even then I feel it wasn’t as good as the 1st Pred movie
