There is a little bit of parody in the game. Maybe thats it’s charm? There is quite a bit of charm in this game, and maybe its due to the comedic factor as well. THrow in rag dolls and a bunch of whitty dialogue from soldiers and you have a blast. I think thats why Aliens did so well in the 80s.
There is a formula taken from action/comedy films. Throw in some game mechanics and you have something everybody likes.
The game mechanics are actually really advanced in comparison to other shooters where you might only be attacking other players who also have guns. THe asym idea makes this game a unique beast.
So being fair , let's talk about the positives

Aliens is a great movie , but yeah what you said makes sense . The experience in hunting grounds depends more on who you play against and who you play with. It can be serious or just for fun .
They don’t need to burn this game completely, they just need to make minor adjustments and fix issues , make other minor adjustments and fix issues . Take it a step at a time and get sturdy footing , if they really want to change peoples perceptions
I know mate , I’ve said before that they can prove the doubters wrong . I think if they flush out what causes most issues? They could turn it around .
I hope they do , I get why they might not listen aswell but thats not really on the players for being aggravated over it . A concrete jungle game with the pred visuals of this game? Would be good .
But I feel that the fact we haven’t had a predator game in years? Contributes to how good we feel the preds look . Its on the latest generation of consoles , it should look good .

Getting arnie on, roadmap no one expected, and the free customization when they could’ve just left everything barebones.
And proximity voice chat with the pred player.
They did the same with F13.
More games should have cross team chat but devs are scared of people not being nice to eachother.

Alien vs Predator prey, the book has been credited as being one of the seminal works in the pred Canon sir, it’s an old one so I understand if you haven’t read it but it definitely is canon
