There was talk a while back about a series but it then went into cancelled territory, I’m guessing if they are putting money into another movie and into comics for aliens and predator ? They might expect that to peak interest for the IP again along with the games . What seems to not be address though is that I would say these properties have always had interest , people just don’t like settling for less

In my honest opinion – what people don’t like is politics, climate change stuff and shit-tone of woke and other trendy propaganda being pumped in to those franchises. It already killed Star Wars, it brutally slaughtered Terminator and now its going after Predator – finishing dying corpse, quz Shane almost succeeded at killing it.
Disnay is the most WOKE movie making organisation out there. They should have never got their hands on Predator and Alien. Both franchises will be destroyed. Amen
The climate change was subtly hinted at in predator 2 , the soaring heatwave . Even the 87 movie Anna talks about that time getting even hotter . Shane black was just the first clown to say it out loud , along with autism being the next step in human evolution and changing the entire lore of the franchise from hunting to gene splicing with weaker species 🙄

But I think the whole increased heatwaves in those two movies was more of a plot device , to motivate why they started to come to earth more frequently. Keyes even says they are drawn by heat and conflict

Predator - Climate change subtle minor backstory drop - Great movie for what it was
Predator 2 - Not subtle explanation for City scenery - Good movie for what it was (horror/sci-fi movie sequel)
The Predator - In your face messaging and integral plot line - Shitty movie

Yeah I agree , they took it beyond and tried to take it from hotter tempretures attracting them to human extinction and wanting the last of the genes. As for the city setting? There was nothing that strictly said they were jungle hunters , apart from the first yautja being called jungle hunter 😁 but I dont see what would restrict them to remote areas? They are galactic travellers and they want to be where the action is , los angeles is a city to us , to an alien race? Its just a more populated hunting ground . You go fishing where the fish are 😄 . Different strokes for different folks i guess

Yeah it is not the world we grew up in. The movies have radically changed to reflect the values of the time. 80s and 90s there was a worship of the hyper masculine but it didn’t seem forced. The woke agenda seems like a 180 degree turn away from the previous decades. Sad, as I cannot personally relate to this stuff. It seems as if the movies are pure propaganda and are made to attack the values the fans hold from previous films.

We’ll were not in the height of any space race or cold war so you can take idealization as a way of saying there is no status quo.The general public or media would rather not have an opinion on lest one spark debate. They go for obscure idealism so nobody can say a thing. Somehow this is good for us? maybe maybe not. These days people don’t want to talk about the LGTBQ because if you do you’re not PC or that you’re critizism is too harsh.
If you know of a nice way of glorifying hypermasculine and super sexual as something good, then you’d be onto something every film producer is after. They got away with it in the 90s only because the big blockbuster was the only way to do it. These days action movies needs to be over the top with lots of cast members. + the action movie needs to be comedy centric these days with The Rock starring in it for it to be sucessful.
I’ll commit to whatever the group decides, we definitely should do something, if only to break up the monotony of this lockdown
