It wasn’t mate. I thought that aswell but its confirmed it was a small projectile that entered his body and expanded
It hits him from the back and has a angle to it tho. I think it was laid as a claymore

Rodriguez who worked on the movie , confirms it wasn’t. It was confusing as to what exactly it was , but he confirmed what I said above and he confirms it on the movies commentary aswell . Mombasa gets shot with it and it spikes out inside him and thats how it raises him off the ground

He can still get “shot” with it if it was a trap laid to shoot the first intruder into the camp. Shoot is a very relative term

It isn’t activated as a step on boobytrap either , as they are all around it or on it , it seemed as if it needed to be activated by one of the yautja if it was on the ground

I understand he was shot. Im not disrupting that part. What im discussing is it most likely did not come from the Predator straight forth, It looked like they let them get into the camp in so they can spring the traps set since they know of Nolan. Im saying they trigger a trap that shot something into his back.

It just states projectile, could be a set up one or directly from a pred , i would personally lean towards from the pred as the other would depend on the target standing in a very precise place , it could be open to interpretation though

From the best you can make out , if he was shot from behind , thats where Royce starts firing towards . If it came in the direction of where they were I would still think it came from one of them , still a badass weapon either way

This would be a cool way to do the spear gun. It would also keep the door open for the P2 version as a gear item.
Basically that it fires like a rifle with the bonus that even if it misses will expand outward and damage fireteam who are too close together. You could even create an improvised barricade or bear trap where running into it will do small damage to Fireteam. You probably couldn’t collect it but if it sat there expanded the fireteam would have to waste ammunition destroying it and potentially alerting Predator to Fireteam nearby.

It would have to be for a period of time or like you said , destroyable . Otherwise it would be used to block doors and people would demand a nerf 😄

In a movie where alien hunters abduct humans, give them parachutes before dropping them from the sky and hunting them with alien weaponry and dogs?
