Why fight?

I always wondered , they clearly didn’t think highly of the predalien but then wolf de-masked for a fair fight . Pfffft , everyone knows you work a lions body in a fight to win

And Wolf got his shit rocked and all his weapons eventually disarmed. He had nothing left at that point, whip got outplayed & disarmed and Wolf dropped his pistol for the humies like a failure.

The better question is why the predalien just stood there and watched him striptease other than the movie being terrible. Maybe predaliens are truly the most honorable species in the galaxy. They should go fuck with them instead of streetcops.

Enforcers and Badbloods might be assholes hunting their fellow hunters but atleast they’re not terrified of losing to inferior races & fight in their weight class lol

This is actually a thread?
It’s a fictional character they fight humans because the script and the story demand so
You think they gonna make money off predators going to court and making a truce with the humans

…and everyone seems to be in character going along with it.

Some humans hunt for ‘sport’; they have trophies too. Food is just a consolation prize. You can buy food in a grocery store

Are you saying that we should anounce to fish or dear that we are the to kill them? We use tricks (worm) and shoot them in the back (rifle shots) too

More like if we were physically superior to such a degree fishing rods would be pointless.
No one would fish if everyone was a genetically engineered apex predator and could just stick their hand in the water and casually grab the fish faster than it can even react.

The fish pose zero threat to us but they’re still faster and we are slow so we have to use tricks to catch them efficently because we suck.
A predator bear trapping people is just for laughs considering they can just jump down and tear the guys head off his shoulders.

I wouldn’t say it’s for laughs. Direct approach is not always the best solution. Plus, he finds out some intel about how good people are at finding traps and how they react and learn. Is good to immobile play and diatract. He’s facing many prey that can fight back and adapt.

That’s what the autoaim shoulder mounted canon is for though

Guns blazing is always an option so why not try a more stealthy/tricky apprach first?

He’s in the position to make the rules of the game, while the humans are so week that all they can do is cririsize. I bet engaging the pred in a philosophical argument crossed Dutch’s mind a few times ‘if only we could argue about use of advanced tech in a hunt then I’d show him who is the bahs’

Good replies. I’m with you on a lot of this. In the grand scheme, they are fictional movie monsters, so not everything will make sense. They hunt for status, they follow their honor code, and they destroy themselves if captured. It’s not that difficult to understand.

Like I said, it’s not everywhere like that. There are still lots of places on earth where you will not find everything you need in a grocery store nearby.

He has clearly never been to Scotland 😁

I agree that people still hunt /fish for food, but still there are exceptions. Preds hunts are that type of an exception.

At the end if predator he actually outsmarts Dutch by double backing. That was the win in hunting tactics. Dutch wins in the end by sheer luck that the trap happens to be in that place and that pred allowed him to get there.

Being able to leap to a prey and being physically stronger is not enough when there are multiple humans grouped together with guns. That’s how you get melted (just like in the game). That’s why PC, traps and cloak is used. Plus, even those don’t guarantee a win since humans can potentially see through the cloak with tech and detect traps. Just firing PC exposes your position so it’s risky too if let’s say snipers are around.

Anyway. The movie is made to show that preds are clearly OP and then humans win by some lucky. It’s a classic underdog story which is an exception to the rule throughout history

Every time I kill fireteam I feel I’m saving the planet. Bunch of meat head capitalist douchebags die by the Predators hand and the world is a better place. PLM. Predators lives matter. #WOKE ALIENS

My predator identifies as a Fireteam member. Don’t discriminate

There’s a reason why we don’t use a bow anymore. Yes some people do use a bow but some people still use a gun which gives you much better range than a bow. You can’t hunt at night because deer are nocturnal and it would be more efficient and so they made it illegal.

Sounds like hunting to me.

Yes we are. Not a lot of us can actually do it but any human has the capacity to kill a Predator. Predators are strong but not durable. They still die to a sniper shot.

Sloane killed 2, 3 preds with a sniper rifle. Without them even knowing. Not to mention the Predator hunters comics. I mean Jaya literally hunts Predators. Her ancestor literally killed one in hand to hand combat I believe. The movies are not the best example because Hollywood.

Here’s a thought if humans didn’t own weapons, Predators wouldn’t hunt us lol 😂

I’m afraid I have to take issue with this. The comics are not really cannon - Do we site Archie and Batman beating Predator?

As bad/average as many of the movies are, they have at least avoided adding goofy* shit like 4-armed Predators.

The Predator IP simply isn’t popular enough to have a coherent history and mythos. Predator is primarily a movie franchise, and since only the first movie is considered anywhere near being a classic (it’s down to the popularity of that movie that the Predator is now part of pop culture and recognisable to non fans) film studios will not worry too much about following continuity, and will instead focus on trying to recapture the success of the first movie.

*of course we got close with the ‘Predator Killer’ suit. But then, look at how everyone hated that movie because it had shit like that - nobody makes a real fuss about ‘Archie vs Predator’ because nobody really takes the comics seriously as they’re a side-show, and more like merchandise.

No we don’t. That doesn’t mean we throw it all away though.

No argument I’ve heard actauly questions the authenticity of the canon and just goes “comics are beneath canon”

Laughs in The Predator.

Not to mention Predators was originally going to go for genetic preds. And that’s before the script which had Arnold going to a Yautja space collusym.

Bruh the comics have been going on for years. In fact two Predator movies have been based off of comics.

So.

A. That’s called bad writing.

B. So that just means all comics are non canon? That’s quit a leap.

Yes the comics are not as popular. But again that doesn’t change canon.

Where are the arguments that question the validity of comics canon?

Again your argument is

“Comics are beneath canon”

Like really?
