2023 and beyond

they’ve had more than enough time

this was june 30th this year it is now december

we know they have 4 projects internally arcadeggedon, ghostbusters predator and an unknown project
they simply do not have the dev force to do this many games they are dropping this game 100% once tank releases (the last of datamined DLC content)

we will never see the single player mode, gauntlet(15 player mode) the snow map, the avp smart disc, air support fireteam or keyes fireteam all of these except for keyes are datamined content that has been in the game for over a year keyes was hinted in the tapes

every patch from this statement till now have had 3 or less bug fixes, no balance that has been asked for, low quality PAID dlc content and in some cases this content has been broken on release that takes a full patch cycle to fix (2 months)

you are on overdose levels of copium their history shows we have no reason to believe they intend to continue support in a satisfactory way that doesn’t involve maximizing profits on sycophantic fans

It would come down to work force at hand is if they can recruit more people for the jobs or not.
Cash flow is another thing… With the projects they have vs. the workers at hand, who knows what they got…

PHG is still a young game… Im thinking how STO first started out… THAT game started out ok and then quickly went to shit because of lack of true PvP.

Star Trek Online was to have faction expansion and more like EVE with exploration and conquest… never came around to it…

STO was another game I had a RP story going.
The story I made was awesome… the RP… not so much do to limitations in STOs game editor.

phg has been out for 2 1/2 years that is not “young”

for reference it took no mans sky a little less than 3 years to be considered “fixed” which was about 6 patches from a studio that is SMALLER than illfonic there was a period of time where the majority of illfonic’s team was working on phg that was about the first 6 months of it’s release and during it’s devlopment we have issues that have been issues since the games release (and fallout 76 took about 4 years to be considered fixed)

we are no where close to having a good game than we were on release in 2 1/2 years of dev time

keep in mind halo infinite (which i know is a much larger studio which arguably is even harder cause of all the people involved at making the game vs a smaller more focused studio) took about 1 year to implement changes the community actually asked for

Eh… it is if you look at what is all out there of the same kind of game play.
If PHG was 5 or 10 years old and still where it is as of today… then yeah, I would say its a dead game

so your going to go by lest say evolve which lasted for 4 years before servers were shut down?
guess we’ll see in 2 more years if anything changes

Im just trying to put things into perspective. Some games do die VERY quickly where others keep going.
STO came out in 2009 and it STILL does not have a PvP like they had planed when the game was announced… Yet… its still played.

If STO was more like EVE is… it would be the biggest game ever played…

i’ll tell you right now due the the marketplace of mmos it wouldn’t even come close unless your explicitly talking about the world that which the players can exist in then maybe
as i am not familiar with the scale of STO

You’re not taking into account of all the Star Trek fans that are out there… If you gave them a game like EVE where exploration and conquest were a thing like in the shows. You would see Star Trek right there in computation of a best selling MMO.

Ok… now the edit killed my comment. LOL

So let me say this then…
If STO would be an awesome ass game if the Federation, Klingons, Romulans… all them had territory like in EVE the game would be the shit. The massive map to explore, the clash of battles between players would be more entertaining and meaningful…

Eh, hell it would just be a better game… point made.

yes i am cause there are two words that defeats this arguement
Star Wars

cause star trek isn’t as big as star wars

even if STO had an absolutely incredible game it wouldn’t be able to compete with the giants of the industry simply cause the IP isn’t very popular

hell i didn’t even know STO was a thing until you mentioned it

… UHG… you HAD to bring up Star Wars… NOW we will never see the end of this talk…

Yes Star Wars has more games than Star Trek but as for fan base popularity in the full… Star Wars may have more fans than Star Trek but what Star Trek has that Star Wars does not is the thrill of the unknown

I’m not lmao
They’d prolly fuck that up tremendously as well, if we’re realistic here.

But we had a game called colonial marines with a hadleys hope level.
