You can’t play in private matches against PC players unless you have an epic games account and add at least one of the players as a friend there. You will need to create the account using a computer or, with your console, using either Rocket League or Fortnite

I have my Playstation account linked to my epic account, but the devs did not implement crossplay that way, so PS friends will not show up on my game unless they create an epic account and add me there.

You are the one who needs to create an account and add us to play against us. After all… you are the one seeking out to prove something.
