87' Skin discussion.

Of course I want it, but I’m not expecting to get it, I already know how Illfonic is when it comes to “exclusivity”

I’m not gonna hold my breathe, like I said, I was just suggesting this so that way everyone is happy. I don’t see what you and people like you lose if it were to be released, it’s not like you’re the only person that has the skin right? It’s just very few of you do, and most of the time you probably don’t even play fireteam, so you wouldn’t know if they did or didn’t release it otherwise.

I looked it up, but it only refers to them as Dutch’s team.

I don’t know about that, it seems like wishful thinking, Illfonic isn’t a huge AAA publisher, and it’s not like Epic is going to help them with that you know?

I mean, they came over to Epic to have a PC release, and they get to keep most of the sales % anyway, I honestly would have taken that hit and went to Steam, more people on that platform, and more eyes on your product. not to mention they’ll even make some money later on with the holiday and flash sales that Steam does, F13 got alot of sales recently on PC when it dropped to 4.99

you’re big on skins eh? thats how they hook you man.

Awesome civil discourse. Yes I agree, they should have released in steam instead of epic, way larger player base.

But, they still need to figure out why the preorder bonuses were not awarded on the epic store, if they don’t, they will have problems with the DLC as well.

Yeah, I am. I can tell you this

On Dota 2, easily $1,0000.
Apex Legends, $600.
Sea of Thieves, $200.

Imagine how many people want that skin, and are willing to pay for it. I guarantee you they could sell it for $15 for just the Jungle Hunter skin and get enough money to pay for upcoming DLC. Hell, they still haven’t announced how much the Dutch DLC is gonna be, and that’s coming out next week! You know it’s going to be high!

you dropped 1 grand on dota?

Yes, I agree, so in the meantime, why not just unlock it for everyone, while you work on that problem? Instead of splitting development time between the two?

I would guess 5-10 bucks, just like their DLC on F13…

I’m not going to make fun of you man

Likely has to do with Sony/Epic exclusivity contracts. It typically lasts a year.
Negative steam reviews would’ve blown it up regardless. If anything they need to iron stuff out first.

Over a 6 month period, yes.

Yeah, but with F13, they announced the dlc and price at the same time, this is different and this is worrisome

Because it takes away the specialness of the item and let’s them off the hook instead of being accountable. Plus if people know that in the future they will just give away preorder items later, it will decrease preorder sales and overall hurt their bottom line.

Guy really likes his skins. damn you’re just gonna let overlords get their claws in you like that.

Go buy preorder off of some dodgy russian site lmao

It’s just my thing, I like to look cool and do badass shit in game.

i totally understand. I uninstalled Modern Warfare after i realized it was just a vehicle to sell cosmetics. worst part is it doesnt last more than a year until the next one and its all money flushed down the toilet.
i just remember the cosmetics i bought for games i dont play anymore and how little they mean to me now to keep myself in check.

well, the thing is, in dota 2 the community makes skins, and then are voted on by the community, the money for the skins goes to both valve and the person who made them. the game is f2p and has no pay 2 win elements, unlike LOL, so I am happy to support those devs.

Respawn, they are a great team that released a great product that I’ve played for countless hours, so I’m also happy to support them. And all their event skins are never fully exclusive, there is no final “these will never be released again” wording.

Damn that’s like a whole stimulus check just for some skins
