I’m going to hijack this for my rewrite of the film :p

Basically the two major differences is Celtic interiors grids kill on Chopper (just the killing blow). The fight plays out the same except at the end instead of grid killing celtic, he runs away, reason being they literally just just got into several fights on the floor like that so it’s pretty much a net zero and so he just runs off.

So you have Chopper trying to survive, showing off how intelligent preds can be (he always came across as a smart one to me)

You have Celtic hunting down Grid, even refusing to use other slain Xeno’s as his trophy kill, showing how dedicated he is to hunting grid.

Then you have Scar with the same plot line as before

Of course I’d make Alexa a lot less pushy (God why was she so pushy)

And Celtic and Chopper wouldn’t get their plasma casters as everyone who has one besides Alexa is killed by Aliens.

Celtic and Chopper make it out of a pyramid a different way than Scar did

Instead of Scar making Alexa apart of a tribe it’s the ancient Predator and its after a proper alien queen kill, not what they did (the queen kill wasn’t bad but it’d make it’d help make it more believable)

At some point Grid and and Celtic have a rematch and at least one of the Predators helps out with the alien queen and at least one survives.

Of course any inconsistent issues (like Celtic and Chopper finding a different way out) would have the story rewritten around it

Actauly According to one of the commentaries they were suprised that the film was PG-13

Plus was it really the lack of gore that made the film bad?

No , it wasn’t the lack of gore . It didn’t look like a pg-13 movie at points but it felt as if it was written like one and you could feel that . It felt like they stripped it down for a younger audience, which makes sense to get younger people to watch . You could easily take that movie and make it better with additional scenes . Anderson can make some good movies but I just don’t think it was approached as well as it could have been . The 87 predator was an 18 , but gore is at a minimum and it implies more than it actually shows you . It really was crafted to make the audience do some work of their own and it paid off . Pred 2 upped it but not over the top , avp wasn’t the worst but some creative choices coukd have changed it drastically

The movie would have been over right then. Scar nearly beat the queen (with the help of Lex keeping her busy of course).

If the workers never had a chance to set her free. The preds would have won EVERYTHING. Even Lex would have died.

This was very much an ALIEN film. It was supposed to be a routine hunt for predators and their hunt.
The Empress/Queen was never supposed to get loose lol.

Anything deeper than that I would be surprised if the writers thought that much deep into the plot/lore.

Anyone else enjoy watching AVP 1 and 2 more after having not seen it some years later? I wanted the space marines in the avp movie somehow but im over it at this point and just enjoyed the films for what they are ;)

I doubt they’re immune to it. At most they can evolve to work around based on the host but everything has a pressure limit.

Literally just have the movie set after AvP but cut out the Predalien stuff because we could set this as the same clan who will hunt on Ryushi which is where dachande and his hunting party take place in, then if you want have AvP duel.
