A franchise with an audience exists and all these people see is are captive buyers they can exploit.
Dumpster fire by all metrics but studios keep funding it because its too low budget to fail.
Rinse repeat with as many IP as you can imagine.
Movies reboots and TV shows are getting like this too.
80’s franchises are extremely cursed.

Victims of success. Remember these were all original and “doomed to fail”…which is exactly what’s wrong now.
It’s all about money and it’s sucked out the soul of creativity and is now going back for the bone marrow because it’s more cost effective than taking a chance.
Lesson in there somewhere too but what do I know I fix trucks not entertainment industries
