Alpha Predator will be it’s own class
Only for PS4? There are also people who have this game for PC and wanted to be it for PC as well!
I might be wrong but…the way I interpret the text is:
“A limited number of toy boxes will come with the Redeemable Code for the DLC—meaning if you buy that toy you get the code ‘for free’ and everyone else would be buying the DLC via PSstore or Epic store without getting the physical figure”
I truly fail to understand the panic of “oh my god if I do not buy the toy I won’t get the Alpha Predator”.
It is like those promos packages 1x bottle of whiskey and 1× of coke… you still can buy each bottle separately, but in theory by buying the pack you should be paying less

Well, when the Amengi(space swarm) conquered the Hish-Qu-Ten(weaker and smaller then Yautjas) ages ago, they forced the Hish to slavery and later gladiatorial arenas for their entertaiment. The Amengi started to make a forced eugenics, the strongest Hish were picked to battle and these were later improved with quimical improvements, this created stronger Hish and battle ready for the arenas.
This created one specimen that was bigger, stronger and smarter then the others, his name was Khaail, a perfect warrior, one that wanted to free himself from their “masters”.
The Amengi grew lazy and cocky, Khaail noticed this and started to build a uprising, he pretended to be loyal to the Amengi, while at the same time he joined the clans to fight against their captors, and also built a alliance with the enemies of the Amengi. When the time came, they launched an attack against their captors, the Amengi were no match for the creatures they “created”, Khaail lead the uprising and he made his armor from the body of the largest Amengi, forming a hunting tribe by this act.
The, now know as Yautjas, took the Amengi technology and adapted to themselfs while improving upon it, and started to hunt the Amengi outside of their planet, they were either killed or forced into slavery by the Yautjas.
Khaail became a legend among the Yautjas, he was known as "Alpha Predator: The First Hunter"

Chill guys. You’ll be able to buy the alpha pred just like you can buy Dutch. They are just giving away some dlc codes with the figures because it will encourage anyone buying the figure to then go buy the game and vice versa. It’s gonna be mutually beneficial to ilfonic and neca.

There’s a book by John Shirley entitled Forever Midnight where the author introduces a lot of cultural background of here called Hish-Qu-Ten instead of our familiar Yautja; he expended the language and some mithology etc. I read it years ago, do not remember down to details, but I do remember the book was rather seen as a step back as it changed and introduced several things “alien” (yeap :) couldn’tresist to use that word) to the established lore of Predator at that time. Book is from early 2000s.

It is just like when you go to a market and you have those promo packages:
1x bottle of whiskey + 1x bottle of coke.
You still can buy the bottles separately but the package in theory gives you both with a better price.
I read and re-read the “lauching” text and I sincerely do not see it saying it is “exclusively tied to the toy”.
As you rightly said, it is just a promo: a limited number of toy boxes come with a “free” DLC code.
Now one can buy the DLC standalone…you won’t be getting the figure…

I can’t judge since I haven’t read it, but I heard some people didn’t liked it because the writter jumped over many stabilished “lore” and made the Hish a “different” species(like savage Predator LARPers).
But I hope they adopt Neca’s lore, because it feels like a good fusion of both worlds, while adding on top of it. If I could chose what the next movie would explore, it would be this “Spartacus Predator”.

I’ve only seen codes will be given in limited numbers with THE INITIAL LAUNCH OF THE FIGURE.
No where does it state that are planning to release this DLC for general public…
Guessing since everyone is getting the 87 mask, they presume they will receive the bonus content…
Thing is more exclusive than the preorder bonuses

It’s not literally the JCVD suit. The body armor is based on the JCVD suit, or by what Rage’s lore describes it to be the skin and bones of the Amengi. The Predator design underneath is 100 original by NECA.

Here is my origins idea if anyone is interested, it somewhat similar-ish to the Alpha one.
I’m sure I seen it somewhere at the bottom of some announcement that it would be like the Dutch dlc and be in the store.
Besides they are apparently only releasing 300 of these things with the code which I just can’t see being worth the effort of making the skin.
But if they decide to produce tens of thousands of figures with codes then TBH it’s up to them if they want it to be an exclusive but only if it’s literally just a skin like the 87 pred and not a class of it’s own. Like if they make it a reskinned zerker.
It looks like they added the elder predator in order to give the Alpha predator its stats without making them exclusive
So perhaps Alpha Predator is to Elder as 87 is to Hunter?

They’ve already confirmed the alpha will be in the store for everyone soon.
I’m hoping that Alpha isn’t just a copy of Hunter like the early footage suggests. A combo of Berserker and Hunter would be cool. Alpha could have the perk points of Hunter and gear points of Berserker while having lower stamina and movement speed (a bit lower than Hunter, like around 2.5 bars) and increased health (a bit higher than Hunter, like around 3.5 bars).
