Alright I'm starting up my time as a predator main and I need some tips

Alright since this game came out I’ve played maybe 5 matches as pred because I couldn’t handle the long queues but I’m over that and I just wanna play pred for the next month or so
That being said I need tips on smart plays where to look for people on certain maps loadout anything and everything to make me become a great predator
Also I will be mainly using scout and then the samurai when it comes out but i would love suggestions for all classes

WHY NOT ALL USE THIS FOR ANYONE TRYING TO BECOME A BETTER PREDATOR IF YOU NEED TIPS FOLLOW THIS TOPIC AND HOPEFULLY THESE TIPS WILL HELP YOU GUYS TOO

AS a pred main. Learning weapons spawn pts at start is huge. Plasma is your best tool… recommend practicing energy management. When to use slam… when not to slam. When to use traps and when not to

Don’t use cloak before you engage the FT. Try to be as subtle as you can before engaging because cloaking will trigger your pred to click and let the FT know you’re near. Unless you’re running around and climbing trees the FT won’t hear you. Cloak only if spotted to make it easier to run away or if going for hit and run attacks.

Don’t fall for FT traps.

If you see a FT member not mudded up and in a room by himself with a one way exit DO NOT engage, that FT member is bait and trying to lure you in.

Once you engage and enter that room the remaining FT members will block the entrance (body block) and prevent you from escaping while lighting you up at the same time.

Instead pick off the other 3 FT members that are outside in the open.

Or use roof slam or send in smart disc

There is another trap (typically set by a PC FT) where one FT is not mudded up firing his weapon in place making pretend he is glitching out and stuck.

Then when u drop down to kill him the other 3 FT members who are mudded up come out and light you up

The other 3 would stay in the vicinity completely still while mudded up looking at the bait FT until the Predator comes

Go set off alarms at the main camps before you go after ft, wait til 14:12 to use target isolation, or use it right away, focus more on using bodies as bait instead of focusing on claims right away, stay mobile as hell.

Most fts should be an easy wipe, so if you’re having an easy time, leave 1 guy alive to reinforce.
Be careful, rarely when you do this they actually start playing better.

Be careful with some ft’s, they know all the snipe points and will flank you.

If you get second winded. Keep leaping far as hell away, and heal up somewhere safe. Make sure you take paths they cant easily follow.

Hope this helps.

Especially on derailed stay hidden cause they will use train roofs to snipe you… force them to start objectives… set off alarm camps. Strongest weapons you have… plasma/ thrown combi hs/ disc… best gear traps and netgun… learn to swap weapons fast. Learn to not run. Learn to stay in one spot for 3 sec to becone invisible. Learn to run and shoot with plasma in trees. Learn to blow up explosives near ft

Biggest advantage is to hit the camps and blow up health kits with plasma and ammo. There are spawn locations for health kits. Also if you see them heal with kits aim at their feet. One plasma shot for each med kit

Also predator skin masks work now (ELDER)

The Elder can be customized now? Like, entirely?

Just remember all matches won’t go as planned and just try your best not to DIE!!! Also, don’t get accustomed to what most Preds do and just swoop down with all FT members in one spot and try to wipe them out all at once. Stalk your prey and keep constant pressure on them…let them feel/think that you’re constantly always around them. Figure out which weapons work for you and your play style…keep moving never stay in one spot too long. Never go inside of buildings especially if all 4 FT members are alive cuz you can get body blocked by them and you will die…there’s so much more but these are some of the key things

Just mask

I have come to realize I just suck as the Predator.

I get anxious when I’m the Pred and it causes me to make poor decisions and I get creamed most of the time.

I do the best with the Scout for some reason though.

Lol you dont die in real life if you die in the game bro xD.

Just breathe lol.

Lol , try breathing , good tip!

I think the anxiety comes from me wanting to give the FT a good game. I just go into the match with the mentality that I’m going to lose because I’m inexperienced as the Predator. I get discouraged when I lose quick , so I stop playing as Pred, and then i cant get better.

Ugh, the vicious cycle continues.

I play much more FT, I’d say it’s like a 90/10 split for FT.

I main pred hunter as its medium across the board. Energy management is a must and using certain perks to start out such as energy cell and modded reserve or sync to help with energy over load. Gd starring point that someone said was trigger alarms. Wait it out use traps, bait, sounds to your advantage. Use all your tools. Try to main trees when possible. Roofs give to much away at this time in the game. I main plasma pistol anx combi stick. Sword is decent alt or bow and sword if you fancy being an ancher. Hope this helps. I use impenetrable, fearless and downrange all round all decent perks that give more damage out across the board and allow you to soak up more damage. Also watch your mask its fragile.

Never, go full retard.

Try watching some people’s Predator videos. That’s where I got a lot of my playstyle tips and playing the game plus seeing them play really well makes you adapt things you see. Don’t be afraid to die. At this point in time no one seems to be even keeping track of stats so really you don’t loose nothing more than a few minutes and you gain hands on experience which you use to improve. Save gameplay if you can and see where you went wrong

  • Try to activate sirens at objective areas and destroy health/ammo resources (health ones are medical kits on the ground or attached to something and ammo ones are open crates with glowing boxes inside them)

  • Leaping gets you more distance than using the trees.

  • When you find the Fireteam, observe them and start planning where and how you’re going to attack.

  • Learn the reinforcement radio locations. You can run to it and intercept the remaining ones when they try to activate it. If you have a motion detector you can place them there so you’ll know when the FT is going for it.

  • Do NOT jump into the middle of a team with a melee weapon expecting to win. Four FT members together will tear you apart.

  • Be wary of lone Fireteam members standing in a room with only one exit. They could be planning to trap you in and then melt you. Only enter if you know where the others are, at least one is dead, and have either the Net Gun (stop them from firing), Combi Stick (a thrown stick deals a lot of damage, so you’ll get a down or force the FT to let you go), or Bear Traps (the traps can pull an FT member away from the exit). Again, be wary when doing this. You might have the right weapons to help you escape, but it’s very easy for something to go wrong in this situation.

  • You can use bodies as bait. Instead of immediately claiming that downed Fireteam member, prepare a slam, bear trap, or a ranged weapon and trick the Fireteam into going for the revive. When they’re there, start attacking. Not only will you weaken other FT members, but the downed one will die quicker.

  • If you down someone after the reinforcement call, wait until it finishes. Anyone who dies during that time will still come back. Of course if you’ve downed everyone, then just claim them or try to wait out the timer in case you take too long.

  • If you find an FT member separated from their group, do not go at them from the front unless you’re trying to bait a knife swing. They can parry you and buy time for others to get there. Either use the Net Gun first to stop any parries or throw a bear trap in front of them and come from behind or the sides.

  • Sometimes players will try to hide in unique places that take some time to get to. Try to look everywhere when hunting an FT member down.

  • I’m not 100% sure if this works all the time, but in thermal vision, the sound bar will start spiking if you’re looking in the direction of the FT. It can be really useful if the last one is too scared to come out.

Here is my loadout (right now I’m using bear traps in place of motion detectors and audio decoys, but I don’t have a picture of it):
