Douch the only reason you suggest they are like that is that in any particular match they are in they will stay in close proximity with each other as FT and when predator comes, their gun fire is all of them. Not just one person firing.

Randoms in Pubs get annihilated with even default settings so 100% agree there. But I feel like the settings we have are probably close to almost perfect for the mid-to-high skill bracket as you say.
