Heres my take. First movie seems ideal. The setting and the things that happened tell a relatively believable story with some extreme situations. It almost seems like those events happen over a period of time and we’re mashed in a day’s events.
I’ve only seen the second movie once and it rubbed me the wrong way. Usually i need to see a movie twice to pass good judgement on it. From what I can remember, it was more extreme situations in a different setting but it seemed forced for me.
This looks like Matrix Resurrections type plot. This is future, but we can’t let go of the past. In terms of extreme events, it’s the same formula as the other two movies, but i can feel the diminishing returns. The first movie set the bar so high tho, that i feel like nothing will come close to it, but this could still be a decent movie.
Also, i felt like I could relate to the events in first movie, like it was my generation. Second movie moved away from that and it felt less homey. This one looks like it’s about current generation, which is fine, but perhaps not my cup of tea. Lots of bias here, but i cant help it.
It kinda sucks seeing them old and facing something like midlife crisis (going back to where it started). I think I’d prefer them being old but face weird situations in midlife instead.

Ill watch it as well. Just such a tough act to follow after the first movie that I’m bound to feel let down.
The voices hold up pretty well. That’s a plus
