Can't apply Mud

So today after the patch I noticed I can only apply Mud once during the whole game! Has anyone else had this happen?

Just point down at the mud and hold it will work.

I have had this happen in the first few seconds of the match but never for the entire round though sometimes when I mud up the prompt doesnt appear to hit square but I still end up getting mud
