Why don’t you let me pound your butt anymore, Mass

can i do it instead please? 🥺

Yeah. That about sums it up.

Hopefully, someone else gives a predator asymmetrical game a go.

I feel like Dead by Daylight is carrying the whole asym genre, but Predators hunting first person shooter players is an extremely fun concept to me.

I suppose a Monster Hunter type game based on the Predator universe could be a lot of fun as well.

Maybe a Predator vs a user controlled AI squad could also be fun. I don’t know. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

A good idea that was poorly executed

First Friday then PHG and finally KKFOS

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and was let down each time

GBSU seems decent enough (and maybe that’s because I’m not the biggest fan) but the player base just isn’t there

I doubt anything meaningful will happen with this so called revival and that is extremely disappointing

It will take a whole lot more to get my support on their future endeavors

To be honest I don’t see servers for PHG going offline anytime soon. They JUST relaunched the game, and have contracts for Pred DLC that they HAVE to legally release or face some serious consequence. Killer Klowns just got several large updates as well and is a recent release. Ghostbusters I think will be the first to fall, as far as I know the playerbase is nearly nonexistent and they haven’t added new content or updates in I think a year. But it’s obvious they gambled a lot of money getting big names into their games and it hasn’t been working out for them; Arnold and Alice for PHG (nobody knows who that Dante guy is), and recently Tom Savini and freaking Elvira for KK. I can see each of these costing well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars to license, Arnold probably into the millions. And the return revenue has not added up to the costs they spent. Word of mouth about the state of the game as a whole has not helped. Is this the end for Illfonic? No, but the seeds were planted long ago and are starting to break the surface.

Would give some serious seed to see that

I never understood why ILF spent so much effort on this game call “Arcadegeddon”. imagine the time spent, on PH2. OMG. the difference it would have made.

Now that Halloween is over I might get Elvira

For now I don’t want to write any closing thoughts on the game itself.
But I genuinely feel extremely sorry for everyone who’s been laid off. That sucks, I empathise with them greatly, hope they can find a new job that they enjoy as soon as possible.

Well, when this game was getting some traction (Arnold coming in etc) I’m pretty sure they made nice money, nice enough to use that money to make their own game Arcageddon or whatever the name is.

And that was a bad move in my opinion, 'cause that game didn’t earn alot of money for them.
Stupid decision was to abandon the game and playerbase that makes you money to go and start a new project, that failed in my opinion.

If you ask me, they made their own grave.

100% agree they took time and resources away from a game that coulda been a grand slam if they woulda focused more on QoL updates and things to keep players interested

I get that Arcadegeddon was a passion project and something they wanted to do but couldn’t at due to funding…but there’s a time and place for that. Its obvious the money from PHG’s launch and subsequent DLCs was used to fund that, and that was the wrong course to take. Illfonic should have put all the money back into PHG, paying for more developers, more resources, more celebrity likenesses, etc. to polish and build the game into something special. Not just that, but they should have been closer to their community as well. MUCH closer. These last few livestreams clearly show how in the dark they all are about this game and its problems; the fact that they had no idea you could stunlock a Pred in a continuous parry, and then they called it “cool”, is explicit proof of that. They’re oblivious of what makes the game unfun, and when they DO figure it out, they think its awesome and do nothing about it.

It just hurts my head…if you look back at all the pictures and videos they took of the making of this game, all the research they did into designing the models, characters, audio, etc., that’s so much time and money spent. It reeks of being a AAA project with the amount of care put into it. So why couldn’t Illfonic treat it as such? Did they expect more from the game, and when it launched and it had so many problems, they couldn’t take it and disassociated from it? That’s not how you fix the problem, you pull your big boy pants up and focus on those problems and repair them. Word of mouth would spread saying “oh yeah they made it better its awesome now”, and you’d be making revenue again. It just…it just sucks. This game is good. For what it IS, right now, its good. It can be a lot of fun. But it could also be SO MUCH MORE. Even now, if Illfonic just shifted all their focus back and actually listened to the community and implemented the positive changes we’ve asked for for years, this game would be so much better, one of the best asym titles ever made. But they won’t. They’re too young, too stubborn, and they took on too much instead of focusing on one major project. And its us, the players, the loyal people who have been here since the beginning, through all the shit, that have to suffer for it.

Considering Illfonics history yeah it’s probably going to stay online for a while

AAA? no its no where near AAA. Its a dead by daylight in which to put more effort and money makes it a hazard. Nobody plans big things for something that small.
I trust their decision to explore expanding their portfolio like they did.
Otherwise they would be treading uncharted territory and get bashed for it since there would literally be no more franchise to use. They would be making it up as they go.

Why do you think that this game has not long to live? For example avp 2010 servers have been running for 15 years or they pay huge money for servers ?
