Favorite Predator setup

I feel like if the team is bad enough to make these type of exploitable mistakes pretty much any build could win. It’s unfortunate that at the moment the Combistick Net gun is like the premier and basically only build so it’s cool when you see the occasional bow though

I usually can scan all of them before the first minute, so I know where they are all at. If they look like a trash FT I let them now it with my stealth and get what I consider a stealth kill. I leap to an isolated FT member, stand still then just wreck him once he is in net/wrist blades/Combi range and bounce.

From there it’s PC/Bow harass until they make another mistake. The sad part is you run into so many Rambo runamok FTs right now…

rambo runamok?

Shure is a great microphone brand recommending that one for sure… Just saying…but that zerg man you tried that one with any other class?

Guys that run all over like Rambo by themselves trying to hunt you and go toe to toe while over 50-100m from their fire team.

My plan is to use the Motion Detectors to find them and then use my Net Gun, Bear Traps, and Combi Stick to kill them. If necessary, I will run because I don’t want to die that early. However, I keep forgetting about my Net Gun and Bear Traps.

So I immediately go to the center of the map, mount a tree and go invisible, pop the thermal and listen if I don’t hear or see anything I’ll pop the locator. Still nothing concentric rings out until I find them. From there they never are more than 100-150m away, and less a good FT catches me slippin and I got to book it to heal. I drop the bear traps on the areas they are most likely to traffic early in the game. I know where their at and they usually get someone, easy kill if you can respond to it fast enough.

Yes, I don’t take first-aid kits at all. I don’t get so much damage for the game that I needed an urgent first-aid kit.

just now

My gamer tag it the same as my name on here . Bow and Combi using sound devices as well

finding is way too easy, you will always start on the exact opposite side of the map to the fireteam…
So look at where you are, look at the opposite side of the map and then the nearest building cluster. If they’re not there check the next closest, you will get audio from them in one of the two, failing that pop the search (although you shouldn’t need to).

You should be able to find them in under 30 seconds.

I have yet to work out why motion detectors are part of the game as it exists now.

Down Range and Fearless dont make enough difference on stats to give up a perk slot imo.
So until changed, dont bother.

Dithered Lens also doesnt make a noticeable difference. I can make an argument for most perks not really making a worthy impact.

But there are a few that work. For scout I use cooling syncs, observant and fast hands. Hunter is versatile, but having modified reserve with light bender allows infinite cloaking. Berzerker benefits alot from adrenal boost. Adrenal boost with cooling syncs fits well on a agressive hunter too.

But my favorite perk is trapper. It affects the beartraps AND THE NETGUN. For those who didnt knew before now, enjoy xD

But i

Gonna have to disagree with you on the dithered lens, right now I’m running modified reserve and light bender for the infinite cloak, and dithered lens. The laser brightness reduction allows me to fire multiple shots. Most fire teams can’t track it and end up blowing ammunition into the tree line. As long as I don’t go into overcharge and can displace, I will drop cloak for 2 seconds and have most of my energy back and continue the barrage. I have vastly increased my kills with the plasma caster using this build. It’s even better when the FTs have mics and are cursing at me for piling them up while trying to revive each other.

Yeah, dithered lens absolutely makes a difference. It’s one of my favorite perks. When a fire team gets hit and can’t pinpoint the predator’s location, it will rattle them. Looks cool, too.

Sounds like teams of randoms if they were cursing in game chat. Meaning they have no clue mosty whats going on anyway.

We tested dithered lens in private games and we all agreed that the visibility of the laser isnt lowered enough to use a perk slot. Aware teams know what direction you are, because sound. The same players will know what direction plasma came from. You have to play peekaboo with the plasma caster, for that dithered lens also doesnt add anything.

Tl;dr there are better perks

Maack!.. Maaaaaaack!

“I’m gonna have me some fun… am gonna have me some fun! am gonna have me some funn!”

My success with dithered lens came from real matches, not testing it privately and commenting on the difference in visibility. Maybe it just doesn’t work for your playstyle and that’s totally okay, but when I use it there is a marked improvement in being able to fire the plasma caster without giving away my location. My playstyle is one of stealth and mobility, so it compliments it.

I wouldn’t recommend it for a berserker/combi stick loadout, though. Point being that dithered lens can be useful and I felt compelled to reply when you tried to write it off as a worthless perk.

I’m playing a hunter today with modified reserve, light bender, and dithered lens, I’m 5/5 on games with Pred, only two teams were rando’s. This is the stealthiest build for a hunter. Bow and PC to knock down health, Combi stick throw if I want to do a little more damage. When they come in for the revive you can drop more FTs. If they isolate out of the area away from each other it’s one shot Combi or blades melee and I’m out.

Great modified reserve, light bender, and dithered lens win. Took em all down in health with PC, shooting and displacing, bow to knock em down more. Took 2 on first objective, let em reinforce l, killed em all enroute to the second objective.
