I can’t see it being useful long-range. I assume the laser is always on during camera mode, so FT will see it, and while it might not make any noise FT will shoot the laser and disable the bolt much like the smart disc. Probably a certain number of bolts too. It being faster than the smart disc might be good for mid to close engagements, getting a bolt shot off fast before FT can spot the laser.

while the idea of adding feral predator to the game is cool and all, i honestly don’t see it improving the game any. as we know, every time a dlc character is released, another bug or exploit is also introduced. honestly don’t expect anything to change gameplay wise.
some questions i have are:
is the shield going to be like the riot shield in cod?? invincible to bullets? will the arrow gun be essentially a drugged up version of the yautja bow?
the preorder stuff is pretty laughable too, just another classic illfonic cash grab move. what made me chuckle the most is that nobody preordering this time will get jungle hunter, and the OG gamers will still be the only ones able to run around with him.
in conclusion: i am not particularly impressed, and there is a very low chance that i will purchase feral unless the game becomes playable and somewhat balanced

I’m betting on some changes to the balance and some of the playability. Can’t say if it will be good or bad though. Like I know they’ll remove Reckless exploit, they HAVE to. They’ll probably re-buff leaping, and hopefully fix the sprint bug. But I know the bolt gun will have some kind of buggery fuckery to it, much like the smart disc, and the shield will probably be able to be destroyed easily like the mask. And I almost guarantee Feral will have some shit HP and bullet resistance (Illfonic’s excuse: Feral fought indians with bows and spears, not automatic rifles and rocket launchers).

I’d have to agree with you, as much as I wanna hope we will get a detailed list of bug fixes to the update when it drops. I am on the fence about it, I really hope that the shield actually is stronger then the mask, close even to indestructible and they remove the reckless specialization.
One thing I am concerned about is the interview that AVPGalaxy will hold for IllFonic where they asked some early questions, with one vague answer being

Okay, shot in the dark what if question, what if Feral is free. Not free in the sense of unlocking him once the game starts, but what if Feral’s class is unlocked via level locks similar to Elder and Alpha.
I’m just saying (and I know IllFonic isn’t known for their logic) but it would kinda make sense based around the article not claiming Feral to be his own separate DLC. Plus it would be a big + towards the fan of this game who have been WAITING for not only the console news but Feral for 2 years now.
