And I would say the consistent themes of who we are as people and what we are to ourselves is just as good if not better as well as the backdrop of the story being literally how war will literally consume the entire planet.

JK but I havenāt played FF9 in a long while at when I first read this I thought I was losing it on my 12 hour shift here
But uh seriously that appears to be an opinion argument which is too difficult or time consuming to peal out why you think that way or to explain why I feel the later is more important to me in FF9s case I would legitimately say other stories have used that message better than FF9 did considering I remember MGS but I donāt remember FF9 that well

TBF maybe. I am an amateur at objective analysis though the main reason was to point out that FF9 was similar to 7 in the way you pointed out.
Being memorable doesnāt mean being good. TLOU2 is memorable.
Not to mention itās easier to remember things that we either hate or like regardless of quality. So if something is meh subjectively but is amazing objectivitly your still not likely to remember it.
Right and I know that itās just after that comparison the next step is to try and lay out reasons why youād or Iād consider yours vs mine is better and then try to come to an conclusion which I donāt feel like doing bullet point essays or review discussing such things at least not now
As Iāve been doing dungeons and dragons DM campaign writing for like 9 years now I mostly have a eye for narrative I get my feedback from my players once a year or so and they are mostly happy with my work when Iām trying though they can tell when I lack the uhā¦ creative energy though Iāll always be miffed when I was teaching someone else to DM and when he asked for honest feedback and I gave it to him he later decided he didnāt want to do that anymore
However I personally value art by itās Impact as Iām very much a nurture rather than nature person if a work art impacts a person which therefore leaves a memory it is better than if itās competition does not now of course itās hard to equate that between people as then subjective taste occurs which then weād have to go by does the art have a relevant message which both do so does it Impact a community or a society which would then be unfair as well Iām sure u can agree that FF7 did have a larger impact on the gaming space than FF9 but thatās a rather u fair comparison considering the circumstances
