Well, I’d like to respect you. You are one of the few people here who can argue well (regardless of your success rate).

Being wrong doesn’t cost you something, but admitting when you are grants you dignity in your error. It’s actually a defence, when you’re are challenged by a troll or someone who just wants a fight. It lets the person you had disagreed with, know that you’re the sort they can be friendly with while disagreeing.

Basically it makes the community a nice place to be, but when you have to spell it out. It makes you look like you’re preaching and the person your speaking to feel like an ass for guarding their ego needlessly.
