I can't believe I didn't know this about the game.

I am pretty sure it is a racial slur everywhere but you do you mate.

I have have personally never heard that to be a racial slur. Calling someone White Bread in a situation like that is to mean that they’re basic.

Defending racial slurs…Typical of racists.

You can’t call me a racist for applying devil’s advocate into a discussion.

bud there is tons of multi cultures across the world. what may mean to you as something in particular its something entirely different for another.

just like the whole world doesnt adapt their humor, or the english or the kiwis or the xhosa’s

Dude I am kidding… Relax.

Also, anyone who says that toxicity or trash talk is part of a thriving community and competitive scene has obviously never really bothered to see any of the two. People in a competitive scene useally have a professional and genuine respect, for others in their place even if they’re practically rivals by team or prior events. What y’all are asking for is something along the lines of a WWE Locker Room. Now, that isn’t to say that Trash Talk and Toxicty isn’t going to happen at all, it’s just plain wrong to think that it’s healthy much at all.

Shit talk is so crucial in competition bc it’s a type of stakes-raising bet. Instead of betting money, you’re betting pride. I bet people only hate trash talk when someone talks trash and kicks your ass. Feels like bulling. But when they talk so much trash and then suck? You feel some pride. Like you cashed out.

I think the videogame generation like me who played stuff like CS as teens, trashtalking was a common and I think it was a cultural transition of rap battles, showoffs and the like getting popular and gaming and voicechat being super new tools to have fun, why prank call like in the 80s when you can smacktalk a grown up in a videogame? AND be better at it than him. Yesterday a kid playing as predator wiped my ft so quick and well planned I was dumbfounded, that at age 33 Im the grown up in the videogames and kids trashtalk me and outskill me haha.
Getting old is ridiculous but fair, everyone ages.

So let’s try and trashtalk those trashtalking teens and try to outskill them and show them we’re better grown ups than the losers back in 2000. Imagine how old they are now ha.

its the pride stuff, I know what u mean. Fuck Billy dropping his weapons to face off the Predator was prideful as fuck, reason why didnt need to show his death, you know it was prideful and thats all that matters. Still a strong scene for me.

Sure, in a small match that lasts 15 minutes, you get that feeling of pride when taking out someone that called you trash for half the match.

But imagine that happening at someplace actually made for the real competition. EVO? Overwatch Leauge? Anywhere that was legit competition? It’s not gonna fly.

Aren’t these forums dedicated to Predator Hunting Grounds? The fuck you even bringing other games in the discussion?!

ONLY due to public perception. That’s a PR move. If you endorse trash talk, you endorse the trash they say. Ugly slippery slope for an organization.

Any other competition that is not so open for public consumption and criticism has a ton of shit talk.

But you’re right. Organizations and endorse it.

thats a reflection for poor parenting… means they have absolutely zero respect as well for their elders. being toxic isnt part of the game or competitive edge. its someone with poor lifeskills and weak at having witty banter. instead of actually having a pleasant time and making friends.

but hey, i was raised to love everyone regardless of their skin, and i was raised to show respect the same way one should reiterate, its suppose to be building a good rapport. if someone wants to be racist/toxic thats a fault on their own.

In that sense, why are you talking about calling people bitchs and then talking about how people are racists? If you wanted to be sarcastic, text is not the way to go.

I will give you that, indeed it’s for PR and big business; but it also had the added benefit of everyone playing as they should, unclouded by personal bias against another player for whatever reason in the game. How those players are like to eachother off game is something else entirely.

Imagine there being a professional match of Predator: HG, would you think that shared voice communication between Predator and FT would work?

thats not pride thats ego.

No need to be pedantic and wrong

I hope I play against you one day I love people who trash talk makes the game interesting

Y’all run into that voice changer? I’ve played two predators with it and that definitely raises the stakes
