Long ago, I wrote 2 short stories about the Pred homeworld.
One where elder female preds were priestesses and both the males and females had to hunt and those with the best trophies won the right to mate, thus ensuring the strongest bloodlines.
The second was one where all the females had died out during a war with the super preds and the males managed to propagate the species through spawning vats, a la Uruk hai.
