Make PHG open source

“Its not a hookor!”.

In my defense , the sheets weren’t dirty enough to warrant being cleaned , so in a way it was efficiency on my part

What year do you live in? Did you travel back to 2001 again? Nobody does that no more.

If there would be an Open Source version (and I would have enough spare time), I first would rewrite everything concerning settings/loadout data structures as well as everything concerning matchmaking.

Both are the sources of more then 90% of annoyances, if you ask me…

After that, mods, why not :)

What a shame…

And you want to make it worse?

No we wouldn’t be back to making content. Bug fixes themselves introduce bugs. Even Ubisoft who had a full season of zero content outside a small doc rework and game improvements still introduced new bugs.

Do you really think Illfonic is able to do better than a triple A company even if it is Ubi?

Some truth in that!

Bug fixes indeed just fix bugs - one needs to redesign parts of a software, which are designed badly.

But as I said, companies tend to not do that, unfortunately - in the end its “politics”… :)

Doing something for the betterment of the game and it’s future?!

Illfonic will not take part in such vile acts.

It couldn’t be worse. This is a logical fallacy. We already get nothing. How do you make getting nothing worse lol

A. Clearly we do get stuff

B. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean we’re getting nothing. A good chunk of people ate up Valk. The FT gear were really fun to use and changed up the gameplay more significantly than any of the paid DLC’s we bought ever did (though it doesn’t compare to anything from any other game)

We do get stuff and the community enjoys some of it not to mention we still have two maps coming. Just because your willing to wave those off as aweful doesn’t mean I’m using a logical fallacy.

The FT gear objectively sucks balls. It’s terrible for the game. And people ate up valk cause we were starved for content. AND I don’t think people like her as much as you think. After Dutch dropped I saw literally 4 stacks of Dutch’s for weeks. After city hunter the only predator you would see for a week or two was city hunter… I’ve played 1 valk since she dropped. Maybe 2… she seems to not have sold as much as some of us believe

“Put your IP, coding, and years of work on the internet for free so people can steal it.” Ok but hear me out and this is why AvP2 is stuck in cease and desist hell.

Unreal isn’t even what anyone would consider a moddable engine guys. This isn’t bethesda, modded games are designed with modding in mind.

Look at Halo MCC. You can’t port or extract assets into anything besides Halo Custom Edition. Games don’t work like this anymore beyond the 90s unless the engine is designed around users implementing their own assets. At most we could move stuff on the maps around, change lighting, and alter spawns for stuff but it would all break every single time the official build of the game is patched.

Reasons. I need reasons.

So stopping all content will make things better?

I realize she’s not as popular as city hunter is but she still has her fans.

Ok first off I didint say stop all content lol what I was saying is this low amount of content does not mean we can’t get bug fixes. Like they aren’t pumping out so much content that I’m like oh it’s fine we don’t get bug fixes on time lol. And the reason the gear sucks is having a giant scanner to track the predator inherently shifts the power role to the FT, and the overcharge grenades are basically time wasters as well. If you all bring these items and mark him, he has to leave. Do it again. He has to leave. Then the next person uses there two, then he comes in and you overcharge him. Then again. Then the next person does it. You keep putting the predator in situations where he needs to back off because having your energy overloaded or being spotted is not ideal for a fight. And currently missions are done in 3 minutes flat… the predator simply doesn’t have time for this nonsense.

I said we wouldn’t get content

Your counter argument was that we don’t get much content anyways

Which means you were arguing for stopping content.

Clearly there was a miscommunication between one of us.

At worst I think your over estimating them and you think I’m under estimating them and at best we actually agree.

That’s an overarching problem with balance as a whole. I wouldn’t put that on the gear.

But it does do what content is supposed to do which is make things feel fresh, which for the FT it definitely did at first. More than any class DLC did for either side. Not to mention that’s only 2 out of the 5 (counting the PDL)

I just think they have no excuse for the game having as many bugs as it has at times. That being said I haven’t had a severe bug in awhile. Also I want the bonkers broken gear gone lol

Outside of game crashes I’ve seen worse bugs in siege.

I’d say balance but I’m assuming we agree and your just being dramatic

I mean the gear is definitely too strong but yes, I’m being dramatic lol. And ehhhh I don’t know. This game has been absolutely unplayable. Not at the moment though it’s been good as of recent

Yes , yes I do 🧐 . #unhackable

Comes down to your netcode. League of Legends is “unhackable” and they don’t even need an anticheat because the server generates the entire game and just pauses you and lets you die if you’re lagging. Pretty simple. It’s not a matter of money, its how accessible you want your game to be with a ping above 50.

Games upon conception now basically decide whether they want to subject themselves to hacks or subject themselves to lag/pay for good dedicated servers and how much of each are they willing to deal with at the expense of the other. Basically all so that people with shit internet can still enjoy the game and those with the fastest internet connection don’t win by default, or every shooter on the market would probably be screwed.

We all know Ubi’s idiots though because they didn’t have dedicated servers at launch in For Honor and the host advantage light spam & disconnects were totally acceptable.
