Motion Detectors and Audio Decoys

Give the predator the ability to melee whilst holding these in his hand/actively equipped.

It makes no sense that we can hold a bow and hand held PC and use our wrist blades but holding MD’s or AD’s somehow prevents this.

I know some of you will say “well that’s because pred holds bow and HHPC in the offhand”. Answer me this: how is holding a small object in the right hand preventing the Predator from using it’s wrist blades?
Nothing.

And it’s not like it will give Predator any advantage combat wise.

Think you actually used to be able to do that

I don’t remember that being the case. I also don’t ever remember reading any change in patch notes regarding that and on this I would have definitely remembered it.

That’s just what I remember so maybe I’m wrong here but maybe not as well.

I mean I will never say I have perfect memory, I could very well be misremembering. Regardless though it’s a change that I feel would be beneficial to making pred gameplay more fluid.

And hell while were on the subject they need to fix the fucking trajectory hud. So many times I’ll throw my shit because the hud says it’s good and the friggin thing gets caught on something 3 feet in front of me.

i’m in the camp of just doing this instead of adjusting gear in any way

Predator now has a dedicated button to use gear like FT does no longer requiring them to equip them first

so now a predator with the sickle equipped could click another button and

“throw a bear trap”
“Fire the netgun”
“Fire wrist rocket”
or use whatever other gear gets added in the future

he can pressure at medium/short distances still be a melee threat or use crowd control or whatever other active equipment the devs create
you could in theory if enough different/good gear gets added no longer need to equip any ranged weapons and rely solely on gear and melee
medkits would still require you to equip and use however

the easiest way to allow this keybind to happen is Target Iso should be a hold button action

there done now there is one free button available to the predator and this can be done

I don’t even play with Target Iso anymore.

Edit: I have key binds for all my gear as it is. I just find it stupid not being able to melee with them.

Not meleeing with bear traps I can understand since they are huge, but AD’s and MD’s is just silly

i mean same but some people who are worse than us still need it

Problem with that is if I give up one of those heybinds for say swap to melee I still have the issue of not being able to melee when I swap over to them.

well no can FT melee when they have a gun equipped? it’s the same system cause a FT can
1have gun equipped ready to fire
2 throw grenade
3melee and parry
all with only having an AR on screen

i want Predator to be able to do the same thing when anything is equipped so if say bow was equipped he can
aim and fire bow
melee with claws
throw whatever is currently equipped for gear which you would use the cycle gear button like ft or the specific keys like fireteam to equip them

I’ll admit I didn’t communicate this well but I meant just do both.

I mean what’s to stop the Predator from just bitch slapping Fireteam with whatever is in their hand, except healing kit.

Motion Detector, Audio Decoy, and Bear Trap require a couple of bullets to destroy, so hitting someone in the head wouldn’t break it.

Let the people bonk with all the gear, except the healing kit.

I thought of this too but then you get into the realm of what kind of damage does smacking someone with a decoy or trap do? Just simpler to have the wrist blades be used and it falls in line with current game mechanics

I could see the wrist blade working with the audio decoy because its small, but motion is way bigger then audio so the blades would hit the hand.
Both motion and Bear trap have sharp edges so those would work like the blades.

For damage I’d just say it’s the same as normal wrist blades, but motion and Bear trap have a pause before the next swing.
