New 2022 Pred movie

Tribe, folks, fellow Pred fans (real ones)… we’ve been through this all before with this floater. This is going to be awful. Idk if it could POSSIBLY be worse than the last one, it’s hard to see how, but it could. Never put it past Whorlywood to foul up such a simple concept with woke-ness

While it’s true that centuries ago, people began doing things like working, marrying, hunting/gathering, etc, all the things at a younger age, because life expectancy was so much lower, that does NOT mean that any 15 yr old could best a 9 ft tall killing machine. It’s patently ridiculous. They haven’t hit their prime yet. Now, the rumor has flown around that this could be the story of Elder (Golden Angel) on his first human hunt or something which would mean he “wins” and makes it out alive. But I doubt that, because the films lead is a lady, which would mean, logically that she dies at his hands and we can’t have that, now can we? No no no.

And damn you for even bringing up that a physically, technologically superior specimen that is male and treats killing humans as a religion or something would defeat, kill and make a trophy of a teenaged girl “breaking gender norms” (that’s in the official synopsis.). How dare you, you misogynistic pig!

And yes, it’s funny that it’ll be on Hulu because they forsee a flop, as do I.

I’m thinking the only possibility of Pred not dying is if they pull an AvP and he just like shows her respect and flies away. Just swap xenos for patriarchy and you got your programming.

I am reading so much nosense in this topic, you all seems like damn childrens.

We know literally nothing on this movie, there is no need to already start the hating.
First watch the thing, than talk sh*t as much as you please, but all of this that I’m seeing, It doesn’t make sense.

The director is really good, and that’s the only thing that matters for now, I’m happy to see a female lead character.

I’m unfamiliar with the director, but when the official ot synopsis is about gender roles 300 yrs ago and NOT a Predator hunting the deadliest prey, it’s not a good start. In fact, it’s about the worst place to start from.

What has the director done that I may have heard of? Bear in mind I live under a rock.

He directed 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Boys first episode, pretty good imho.

About the synopsis: what you said is your opinion, founded on your ideas/tastes, someone else might find the concept of a yautja hunting in a different period of history very interesting,
and a female protagonist a good choice.
The rest is only speculation and opinions on the nothing, until the actual movie comes out.

I’m pretty excited to see what they do. At the very least, we might see some awesome practical effects and monster makeup :)

It’s not speculation, tackling gender norms was a quote from the director.

No one minds a female lead in an action movie, its the revisionism and obvious political bs that’s gonna tank it. Like for one ain’t no such thing as a female Comanche warrior. Maybe a Comanche slave for making babies, but no, no Comanche warriors lmao

Disney like always pushing their stupid bs idealisms, just like Marvel and The Eternals when the two dudes kissed. I don’t need my kids asking me all kinds of weird questions. It’s supposed to be a family movie, not soft-core gay porn.

Lmao the guy made one movie and then became a direct to dvd director. Did you even bother to look before shilling? Directed 1 ep of the Boys thats pulled directly from a comic?
This franchise is bleeding out.

I found the one person who enjoyed 10 cloverfield lane when it ended his career.
We all know why there’s no theatrical release for this already, doesn’t take a crystal ball.

While there aren’t any recorded women Comanche warriors, almost all of the tribes the Comanche were neighboring have records of women warriors. Additionally Comanche women were heads of households and men had to leave their household and join their wife’s when they got married. Women were also known to hunt smaller game like rabbits, etc. so being able to use a bow wouldn’t be out of the question either.

If it had been an Apache woman, would you mind it being a woman warrior?

I tire of disney’s tropes we need a non-conforming comanche male who wishes to pursue a career as a seamstress cook

Berdaches were very common among the Comanche, yes. It would be incredibly odd if the tribe did not have at least one.

Along with tribal t-shirts, cargo pants, and goggles?

No, that wouldn’t be accurate for the time period. It would be incredibly odd if there were not at lest one person born physically male that existed as a non-binary third gender among the Comanche tribe in the movie. Those individuals would then mostly do traditionally feminine roles in the tribe.

I said seamstress not gay.

That was the term that the French that first encountered them used.

Maybe if she wasn’t a teenager, and this took place after they were introduced to firearms. I’m not saying there’s no way this girl knows how to use a bow, I mean the comanches are noteworthy for their conquest, not their gender-equal opportunity culture.

I’m afraid you’re mistaken. Months ago, I posted a link to the officially released synopsis. It sounded like a 6 yr old wrote it…in crayon.

I haven’t seen 10 Cloverfield ln, but I’ve heard good things about the boys, though I’m not a fan of the comic…one of Garth Ennis’ misses.

A Pred hunting in the past is fine, and I’d actually prefer that for the next several movies…just not with teenagers. That’s what made Pred: Dark Ages so good.

I’ll give it that much. With how good creature effects can be now, the suit had damn well better be flawless
