OK, getting fed up with unsolved game issues, and possible solutions.

This is dedicated to Illfonic staff and different departments as well as debates over ideas of how to generally work things out.

So let’s begin with the things happening. The game still looks poorly implemented and unresolved over multiple platforms and as it is quite demanding (resource wise) it really shows the lack of knowledge in optimizing tests as well as managing with engine works in terms of memory as well as networking and connectivity issues.

I wish to raise the awareness of the staff that the way they go now is not beneficial at all. Why? Because aside the poor implementation and apparent close to zero cross platform feature implementation and testing of overall game features, Illfonic is passively overlooking the overall poor state of the game.

For example: given the fact that the game is being played over a global Quick Match system given the case and after my knowledge a studio dealing with this type of option in terms of multiplayer, play tests and the quality assurance itself doesn’t need only actual testin from teams that have actual geographically different locations and multiple connection types but also the need for tests in the given example to be over multiple platforms as well. (you might use VPN services all you like, that doesn’t make testing over previous gen platforms accurate or fruitful in this case at all)

I know money might be an issue when it comes to Illfonic but for Pete’s sake, when you are going with the type of game/IP/franchise like Predator Hunting Grounds is, you really need proper preparations in terms of quality assurance testing and playtests more than you actually have at the moment. You kind of need to invest in these things in the sense that you won’t be able to deal with the overall progress and state of the game after so long.

Is not wrong for people to demand for example a polished and properly working product. And here what is bad is that you actually screw with both the fan base and the clients in this sense.

This being said, I am sure there are plenty of opportunities and resources and creative ways to build and collaborate with plenty of businesses or offices or even individual peers that can be engaged WORLDWIDE in order to help you with the overall process. (despite the trolls and forums or online)

Is about stepping over your ego and making sure you want to make things work. Otherwise you won’t be able to deal with these types of “hickups” in the future. Bottom line is, don’t be afraid to innovate and actually go global with differnt sorts of collabs. Aside the overall toxicity online you have a brilliant fanbase that you can work with and positively inclined and well intended folks out there who try to admire your work and love the franchise.

Thanks for making such an eloquent post. I hear what you’re saying. You mentioned innovation. Do you have any examples of innovation you’d like to see in the game?

I think things such as predator gadgets and more ranged predator weaponry is a solid start. Fireteam has had several gear items added while the predator has had none.

I made a post about Wolf’s tripwire mines that can block off a small area but can be destroyed to not make them useless (like half to a third of the smart disks health). Area of denial can be very helpful for flushing prey out in the direction you want them to.

Predator ranged weapons currently it’s been 2 years and we have what we have had at launch. (Plasmacaster, disk, plasma pistol, netgun, bow)

The Speargun has been a popular request for a while now.

The shuriken is also an iconic weapon and I don’t care if it’s even a skin for the disk or a new mechanic. I would like to have it be a “boomerrang” type ranged weapon with only mid range and no camera (kinda like chucking a spear).

Movie predator accuracy: I don’t understand the consistency as city hunter has his own roar for intro and healing and you guys even changed his roar in the next patch following feedback when it was wonky, visible weapons on him (such as netgun, disk) on his body. But no other movie predator has been giving the same attention to detail (objectivly) examples below

Wolf has a lot of issues currently but he plays amazing I know you are aware of the texture issues but he as well is missing his roar.

He had no netting on him whatsoever and his mask is disproportionate and does not react to lighting well

Last thing is his left eye is not whitened out.

The biggest to his addition is we don’t get claymore mines (even though rendered on him) or a new variant of the plasma pistol (again rendered and textured)

I’m just trying to say if every predator had the stock sounds of jungle hunter that’s one thing but it seems odd we can’t get a few audio files when you have the entire pinewood audio files at your disposal. or model switches that are already renderred (but I assume there is no skin variants like obsidian, olive ,systematic so thats why it was not included. )

But gamedevelopment is not copy and paste and the team is probably a lot smaller since arcademgon

There are multiple ways to tackle these situations. As I mentioned, there are multiple ways to make innovation in order to make considerable progress when it comes to the overall state of the game.

First of all, you need the manpower, and as I mentioned here, you could be able to gather first and foremost users who volunteer and are eager to participate into the process of (dev)testing of the title or game. This can be managed at a most optimum and cost effective rate possible, by opening up your studio to the actual internship type of programs, literally all over the world there are universities and all types of research, education and formation programs that can be easily acesed with partnerships of all type and sorts with different means of collaboration, trough research and education programs, when it comes to game development in general or as a main. (you just have to call and bargain man, the oldest rule in the book, as I am sure that the academic spectrum is quite open)

Aside these, Illfonic along with its talented team and talented fan base can iterate a program confined in a micro office or studio (starting with as much as 5 test individuals and a lead) in different parts of the globe (for example, a small branch/office in Eastern Europe, another one in western Europe, a branch in states of South Africa, another one in states of North Africa, one in Canada, one in Central America, places like Mexico, Ecuador and all the way to South, Argentina, Brazil…plenty of options, another one in the middle east, as well as Asia in places like India, China, Thailand, Japan). All of these can act as proxy testing points that are connected with a common data base, such as Jirra or Bugzilla, and a typical office type of rudimentary setup (give a small tablet to each where they could input the issues and check them in the database or a small office type of desktop setup for each, but the small tablets are a smaller investment) .

The key here is for the locations to be set up and managed by micro teams as mentioned above, and to have access to each platform the game is available on. That being PC(from high end PCs to the lowest - hi & low specs…different brands & components meaning AMD and Intel with different versions of OS on it), Playstation (4 and other iterations of it, 5), and Xbox (and different iterations of it along with a mix of current and past gen - where applicable).

In the given layout of ideas, testing should always go in execution from previous generations - the lowest technical specifications platform, towards the rest (up). So users can swap or jump easily from platform to platform as needed throughout the test plans.

That way you can stress test the heck out of the game when it comes to Playstation 4, being the lowest in the bar here. As well as make connectivity tests on a constant basis as you go along.

All can be done on the actual servers, real time or even isolated cases depending on them cases.

When it comes to investment is considerably mitigated since there are different perks for each case in regards with local government laws, rules and regulations. Usually is better and best to aim for states that favor, support, subsidize or cut down on costs for businesses part of an education program going from little to none expenses in terms of major things as tax for businesses.

Is really up to guys at Illfonic how they really wish to juggle with educational programs as in the academic and research spectrum in places like Europe for example not only you have perks when it comes to education but you also have funds that can be accessed, locally, in order to mitigate your costs as a small business or hub.

It can really blend the local educational programs really well trough these types of small paid internships with the actual efficiency and work coverage and volume along with the overall progress volume you can get.

By the way, when it comes to iconic characters like Ltn. Harrigan (if you guys can make it or cope with it) being part of the series and predator canon when it comes to franchises, make the character using either voices from the movie or try contacting the actor Danny, he might be able to pitch in with his whiskey, growly voice for you guys for a collab…who knows? He is a great talent and he deserves all the support.

Aside that you may as well as make the Harrigan character similar to the movie, in terms of skin or make 2 skins for him, a classic movie skin and a more modern take on him (use your imagination, how would Harrigan look after decades in the police force, some government work and chasing down of the misterios alien hunter along the years). Here you go you don’t need to monetize 2 times the same character.

Let me make things more simple in terms of loadout. You know the powerful revolver he has in the movie? Make it an item bound/locked to his secondary slot in terms of loadout and (just as you have for the city hunter the fire launcher gauntlet) let the rest of the loadout configurations for the player to build and blend personally.

Aside his main and unique, you can even work with making him good into spotting the target as well as come up easily with a perk for him that can be called “street wise” or something like that bringing the help for him have a blend or mix of two other perks or something entirely new. (imagination and creativity is the limit, all that can be inspired by the character himself).

Also, don’t be afraid to bring back the team (that is currently working on that arcadegedon thing) to work and try to put together a city map, something like an industrial sector, mixed with construction site type of portions and bad neighborhood type of areas can be key assets into developing an actual city map. You don’t need necessarily tress to use the predkour traversal system as it can probably be implemented and tweaked and adapted for building surfaces and street light poles or any urban type of asset in this sense (with the right skill and team talent).

OH, and instead of mudding up with the Fireteam, in the urban area you could make the team to use the hot steam instalation of the city area or even blowing up vehicles across the map in order to conceal their body temperature as well as raising the temperatures in places like a industrial warehouse. Mechanics and possibilities can be endless and twist the odds and ends in an interactive way of the game factions. Give the user with this occasion, of developing the city maps, the option for urban assault skins. Make new skins and instead of the classic OWLF you can come up with differnt set of chromatics when it comes to wear and with some minor tweaks in order to make them urban combat ready.

Aside this, in terms of maps something as a ancient temple run, fast in - fast out, type of artifact race and clash between the Predator and Fireteam type of map that I talked about here a long time ago is also an option and a concept or idea worth to look into.

Look in feedback section for the title, Predator a lot of improvements, The person who made it had a lot of good ideas that will help this game. Also in my opinion fireteam needs to be nerfed and I know that people need to defend themselves so maybe nerf fireteam to where it takes at least two people to take down a predator and please add a new game mode.

If we just had something like a Test-Server for Updates before they get released, so the real addicts can contribute with their intense knowledge and time, we could get far fewer bugs when the updates hit.
Illfonic could only win using their own playerbase as voluntary play testers…
The PHG Bug Hunting Discord is the best evidence for that.

I am just going to plug in my ideas
You could have a predator speargun that is like a sniper in the sense that it is a very fast moving projectile with massive damage (akin to combi throw damage) but needs reload for every shot so it is balanced beside the bow. Maybe it could have it’s own laser sight when aiming so FT can spot a Predator using it from greater than 50 m away.

Plasma caster variants
Add a new customization option in the predator class to make different plasma casters available. You can have the default one now, then you could have one that does barely any splash plasma damage but is faster and harder hitting on a single target when fully charged. And then another could be all about splash damage and like a small thermal explosion but have much higher energy cost. Each plasma caster could have different look and sound based off one of the movie predators.

Predator jammer, Perhaps, Predators can have a gear item that acts as a jammer of a large area, this will disable the FT map, and HUD indicators in that area forcing the FT to either destroy it or move away to reestablish those elements. The Anti Cloaking Grenades would also disable it.

Give Predators 4 perk slots, right now a lot of predators have 10+ perk points and it sorta limits their perks options to get full use of the perk points it would be nice if we could loadout with 4 weaker perks.

Give FT a flamethrower, more weapon specific specializations for the weaker weapon classes, like double range on shotguns, SMG accuracy boost, etc.

Going as far as giving Wolf 15 perk points is useless unless you could equip 4 perks. The best perk combinations don’t require that much and not giving at least 10 gear points or one of the best specs makes him a meh class overall.

Like Wolf is suppose to be an above average Predator let’s say and yet City Hunter who is reckless young hunter is overall a better class than him. Like how Dutch2025 isn’t the best ft class for some dumb reason. Illfonic could have made him pay to win since FT has that on Dante no, they hate the Predator. Its like they throw whatever random stats it comes to their minds to new Predator classes cus they have no idea in regards to how it works in practice.

Yep. Precisely. Why else would the City Hunter ( a Young Blood/ Newly Blooded rank) be a better class than Wolf (an Elite rank) Predator? It’d also certainly explain why they make up a ton of Predators for like 75% of the DLCs - namely Samurai, Viking, Valkyrie, Exiled. At least Cleopatra had lore as she fought Dutch. But the others tho… Meh. Not being funny but Wolf should practically have max stats or damn near it, with the best specialisations in the game, and come with all his kit and weaponry, if the likes of the City Hunter is an S tier class in the game

Exactly. They can dick around with stats for their cosplay Preds all they want, but for Pred specifically based off from movies, they need to held to a higher standard based on their lore. Wolf is an Elite, fought freaking XENOMORPHS for most of his career, and lord knows what else, that’s more than any Pred in the current game has ever done. He should be fast, he should tank damage, he should dish out a ton of damage, and have the highest gear points of any Pred. And I understand, that breaks the game, but you know, its already broken, just do it and let us have fun with it. At the very least its lore accurate. Same with Dutch 2025, he should be the S tier class for FT.

Ikr! This version of Wolf is like the chubby looking kid mask version with lung cancer coz of his low stamina and forgot his backpack for gear. And the funny part is how the 2 Fireteam characters in the game that have actually killed many Predators (Dutch 2025 and Isabelle) are the two worst ones in the game! Meanwhile you have some random guy with dreadlocks and a rocket launcher who if you use Fanatic on him (Dante) with the likes of double time and thick skin, well even if the Predator does manage to hit you with anything, the fucker will be able to tank like 4 arrow shots, 7 or 8 plasma shots (no exaggeration) and still keep running faster than a Scout with double time. Like I’m not being funny but WHO TF IS DANTE?!?

The stats that Glitchfonic throw out there are just… Incompetent and careless to say the least. In a nutshell, Wolf should be OP asf, and Dutch 2025 and Isabelle should be the only two somewhat capable of countering him when you think about it. And yeah Wolf literally threw Xenos around like ragdolls with his bare hands

well old dutch is not bad he’s pretty polivalent
but why would you like a polivalent FT when you can play the basic assault and do insane damage (30% damage buff with the hammerhead is not funny at all) or you can play dante for the rocket launcher build (it’s not that great) and have pretty good stat and field medick and a shit load of other stuff !

No Fireteam members in the game are bad, but Dutch 2025 and Isabelle are the least strongest ones. I never said anything about wanting the game to be movie accurate. I’m talking about how it doesn’t make sense the way that Illfonic choose to give stats to certain characters. Theoretically the Predator who mopped the floor with Xenomorphs with his bare hands should be the most powerful Predator, without going into detail about all of Wolf’s feats in that movie. Also theoretically, the two Fireteam members who have killed multiple Predators and trained with OWLF etc ( Dutch 2025 and Isabelle ) should be the most deadly Fireteam members. Not the other way round. It’s just logical. Which Glitchfonic have evidently proved themselves to lack over this game’s lifecycle

OK, I understand the concern about Wolf here. But they probably can’t really make a predator like that for example to be a one swipe - one kill.

Cause literally I don’t think a Fireteam of 4 would ever stand against a predator like that. Given he is Elite rank, maybe they should be making a new game mode called Elite Hunt maybe? Where a team of 6 go against him (and buff him up a bit instead)?
