Ok, so the Pred is still too weak.

Yeah I know, but like you said it’ll never happen. I’ve never done it, nor had it done to me, nor seen it done to anyone. First of all the player has to be on their 3rd down. Secondly, it’s not gonna happen becasue if the Pred runs up behind them they’ll hear it. Only way I see it happening is if the Pred perfectly leaps behind someone who is busy interacting with something. I highly doubt it gets much use.

I prefer the idea of having a real time effect as being something that is immediately impactful to the gameplay. Like, if one of your fireteam goes down, that’s gonna slow or weaken the whole team. Which is balanced IMO. Either the whole fireteam stays with the slower player to keep firepower up, or they leave him behind and risk an easier win for the Pred. It shouldn’t be a massive speed loss, just enough that the fire team has to carry the wounded a bit and are prevented from flying across the map like they’re on PCP. This gives the Pred a bit more wiggle room in how he approaches them. If they’re slowed, then they take longer to get from A to B. If they leave one behind, well, they’re dumb and yeah they’ll be faster but they’re down a man and have less damage potential.

And the hobbling could be implemented in various ways. Lowering stamina, which might be the way to go, in addition to having less stamina to sprint across the map they’ll also lose the ability to PARRY as much. This also means less Pred rushing in the beginning of matches if they know they have a better chance after they soften the team up.

So what about that? A Max Stamina penalty with each down?

I know sorry. I wanted to give a context so it’s clear that I’m not wildly rushing in a being stupid. I’m examining my approach and really trying to play smart. My mechanical skills are solid. I wreck with the fireteam, and can nail sniper shots while the Pred is mid leap. But sometimes I feel like no matter how well I play, the fireteam can just shut down anything I do.

I’m sure it’s possible. But I just don’t think it’s particularity useful or practical. I’m not saying get rid of it. Just that it’s not gonna be something my gameplay is gonna revolve around.

You can also stealth kill with the bow once the white skull indicator shows up. You just have to shoot them from stealth(they cant be looking at you and you cant be Spotted)…

It causes their bodies to get stuck to surfaces by the Arrow you killed them with. Lol

You CAN NOT balance a game based on 5 noobs lol . u have to balance it near the top so people can reach that level. if u balance for 5 noobs then the pros will just be WAAAAAAAAAAAY op when they face some noobs.

No the pred just hasnt learned the mechanics yet. it takes a long time to learn how to be good with pred. very steep but rewarding learning curve.

I agree with alot of your points. Now my thoughts on the caster and tracking. So if anyone here has ever played titanfall 2 you would know that it is a very fast paced game and it has a slight tracking to the aim but not something that turns you into a kill everything you aim at kind of tracking. So ok, plasma caster and bow both need some type of tracking because with the current way for us console players aiming with controllers its damn near impossible to land an arrow on FT players who move erratically. You hit your first arrow while they move but after that a coordinated FT starts to run like litteral chickens with heads cutt off and you cant land another arrow because its so erratic. So lets say you switch to plasma caster. So plasma caster either needs a bigger AOE or it needs tracking. Not both. You can shoot your plasma right next to someone and still not do dmg. I find that a little ridiculous. Especially on a full charge and it lands by them but barely leaves a mark. But if they cant increase radius and dmg then please for the love of god give it just a bit of tracking. Now before anyone says anything just know i am pretty good with bow and land alot of my shots but again against a coordinated smart FT they can practically make your bow useless by erratic movements.

stalth kils are annoying they happen and take ages even though u didnt want to do it.

Best time to do it is when they are running away for their life and they dont look back.

@uk_spawn i really don’t think you understand balance especially after that comment. Sorry mate but if you think this game is perfectly balanced then i believe you just fight only random FT as a pred or you are a FT only guy.

where did i say perfect. their eis no such thing as a perfect balance only in a game where each side has exactly the same shit.

You know ive noticed in a lot of your post not just on this thread but on other threads you tend to tell people to just get good or don’t really bring anything worthwhile to the topic other than to tell people they suck. Maybe you should put why you think this game is balanced instead of just saying its good where its at. Then i can discuss it with you.

I agree, pred is too weak still. But it has nothing to do with simple damage numbers, or resistance numbers.

It has to do with how the game forces both teams to play, or at least encourages them to.

This is why I made a super post to completely rework this game.

As it stands the game is bleeding out. Every single player, whether casual or hardcore pred fans, can all agree on this.

Yes, we have more “balance” right now. But a game like this needs to be balanced in different ways, then say call of duty or halo.

Fireteam should be the weaker team, but stronger together. However even together, they should still be playing the match like its a fight for survival, not a fair fight. Because it isnt.

To be more specific on your points

  1. Cloak does need to be improved, I absolutely agree with tthat as it will open up more than just rushing playstyles.

  2. Pred needs to be able to heal faster. I agree, however only if the rest of the game were to remain the same. If the games are more drawn out, then im fine with it being as slow, if not slower.

  3. Permanent penalties is a good idea, but they shouldnt be overdone, this has to be balanced very carefully, otherwise its gonna go sideways quick.

  4. Plasma caster tracking is canon, however for the sake of gameplay, I DO NOT want this in any capacity. Damage needs to be returned, or the charge time has to be quicker.

  5. Knife parrying needs more counters, I outlined this within the weapons section of my guide.

  6. I agree with pred melee being stronger, but only if everything else is retuned. Then once that is done, I want both melee to hit harder, as well as the fireteam to hit harder too. That way rushing in with melee is punished severely, for both sides.

I think the game is in a good place right now. i win a lot with pred and i lose some when the team is better than i was… I dont get how you can get more balance than that.

Its not perfect. most of the issues i have are with the clunkyness, glitchyness and bugs.

Feels in a good place to me.

In the end though the devs see the wins/losses and if something needs to change it will.

You know how i know its well balanced not jsut from my opinion but from the forum.

When the pred was underpowered everyone agreed and all the posts were about that, fireteam said it, preds said it, i said it. etc.

Now you look throught the posts and youll see, “Fireteam is OP” - “Pred is OP” - “fireteam weak” - “pred weak”

“this is weak cuz i lost to it” - “parry is op” - “combistick is op”

Thats how i know its in a good place because there is no single focus and people are just venting on what they lost to. so…
