I dunno man… AvP 2010 had blocking using your arms, lol
Parry BS
Wow, for real?! LOL That is one bad ass super human marine if he is able to block a Predator or Xenomorph with his arms like in a boxing match.
well we don’t really know what those “stims” have… might be meth, LOL
its honestly not that bad man
even tho i agree makes no sense that human tec beats the predators tec so easy its a joke really…
wouldve been cool if you as the human would need to steal tec form the predator too parry but its never going to happen.
Balance my dude ever heard of it
sh*t man… and here I was thinking how it makes sense that someone can heal bullet wounds instantly by simply eating a pig’s heart…
i mean hey i 2v1 FT Parry kid with the elder sword and i still win, its just a matter of strategy at that point, but yes WE NEED BALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEE
i mean i agree there too honestly i would prefer having more Medkits over Boars as it fits better with the movie maybe make it like dead by daylight where you hold a button to start the heal and as your healing form time to time theres a skill check where you do a puzzle and if you pass it fast enough that you dont make the Roar but if you fuck it up you Roar.
i dont know sounds more cool that way and rewards skilled players.
anyways im getting off topic point is yes i agree i think theres alot of things that arnt lore accurate and not Real life accurate
Dude soon as they parry the combi throw it through their face done
Yeah I’d like to see real fall damage so when a ft character jumps off the building in derailed to get away from me they pay for it
Right thanks for saying what I thought, stop whining like a bunch of pussies, a 1 v 4 takes tactics not brute force I have still yet to win 1 game as a predator still not one post about losing to parry, I just need more practice eventually I will get all 4 I just play 1st person much better then 3rd
It’s certainly something to get used playing vastly different playstyles. I’d say to favor Ranged Combat with the ranged tools at your disposal. Eventually you can get away with doing a mix with Combi-Stick if you have good aim.
It was the pred that could block. You had a wrist blade on each arm and you could cross them in front of you to block melee attacks.
You know who parries the best. JAMES MF’ing CAMERON!
James Cameron IS a parry.
Nope. I own and still play this game. The marine blocks (L+R bumps) and has melee (right bump) that hits you with the butt of the handgun. Effective against xenomorphs (throws them to the ground).
The Predator in single player never engages in close combat against the Marine.
I never played it multiplayer though, don’t know how it worked or if it worked at all there.
It’s been years for me. I only remember the pred blocking melee with his blades. You can block just about anything other than a heavy xeno attack i think. Either way it was cool.
@Maraudermerc here’s a friendly tip Youngblood. Chip damage with melee. So many FT get sliced to ribbons as I run circles around them slowly depleting their HP until they either die or are forced to retreat. I even managed to cut down an entire team on the top level of the warehouse on derailed with my sword. The predator is more mobile for a reason. Rarely do I try to do a complete melee combo
Thanks for the tips guys Ill try different stuff they finally fixed the secondary weapon problem so I can finally try the hand held plasmacaster
Not gonna lie @Maraudermerc, Parrying could definitely use some refinements. And if it wasn’t around, a lot of engagements would end that much faster.
So yes, people can practice and get better or improve their Predator tactics. It works both ways. If either side spams anything, they’re going to get punished. If both sides make bad engagement calls, they’re going to get punished. But!! I tried to attempt Parrying Practice with a Friend recently. And deliberate timing is quite difficult.
I’m sure connection speed has something to do with it (we both had decent connections) in the slightest. Still though, something feels off. Coming off of the insane amount of time I spent playing Tekken Tag Tournament back in the Arcades, as in the original, you had a slight window to read an Attack to buffer/input into a Reversal Command. And if the Opponent knew a Reversal was coming and read it, they could pull off a Chicken (as the Announcer commented LOL) which Reversed the Reversal.
So with Hunting Grounds, the Predator’s Melee Attacks can be Parried. And when you are successful, it’s gratifying. But… that Reversal Window is so small it’s impossible to pull off regularly. While Tekken Tag’s System also wasn’t 100% consistent (meaning you couldn’t always pull off a Reversal… too many variables) you could still read what was going on.
So yeah, the Parry System is fine, if a bit unrealistic… but then again everyone thought Danny Glover and City Hunter Parrying Duel was awesome ahem. @IllFonic should refine it just a bit more to make it a tad more accessible while still being challenging.
