Parry needs a cost of some sort.

Stops every option because game outright gives me easy ways to stop every option ranged or melee. “Predator is unskilled!”

I agree that a full fire team shouldn’t be able to do this, but think that it taking up a secondary slot is enough of a deterrent that most people won’t choose it, except people who really like to parry. You take Magnum if you wanna poke, vector if you want all around burst, minigun for pred shredding or sword/machete if you wanna parry. And then as predator you know not to get into melee with the guy who has his sword out, unless you can hard counter with it the net gun or soft counter it with timing and manueverability. Otherwise bust out your shoulder cannon.

Also it’s happened before in the series (movies and comics) that someone was able to (usually but not always, at the cost of their own life) deliver a fatal blow to a predator with a melee weapon by themselves. There’s the scene in Predators where Hanzo had a showdown with a predator, and here’s an unnamed tribesman killing a predator with a spear and something close to a machete from the comic Rite of Passage.

I don’t mind the parry as it gives you a chance against a good player but it should only be allowed once per ft member. Maybe twice but the second time it’s effect on the predator is halved. Once you parry the predator the knife should Shatter and take a huge chunk of stamina off the ft member.

I like playing as the predator but I’m not very good and the parry system as it is now that everyone is starting to use destroyed me. But as I said I’m not very good.

If you do have someone who knows how to use the predator properly then it’s probably not a big issue but still needs reworking.

Cool post. Immersion breaking was the point that did it for me.
