Parrying getting annoying

in order for melee to work you have to always melee from the back

if for some reason your meleeing from the front you just have to watch them and look for the knife swing once you see it you can hit them (unless lag) that’s how you melee always jump in between swings also cause there are a few builds which let FT kill predators in melee in sub 3seconds (which is faster than all full combos) where legit the best strat at dealing with melee predators is to stand still or backpedal and let them melee you cause they will die first

this is the way the game is intended to be played i’d recommend just not doing melee ranged is always better

They always were… well since the first patch anyway

I’ll keep that in mind since I mostly play scout w/elder sword

Yeah always try for the back. The sides are a little better but still able to be parried. Remember bunny hopping is just as annoying for FT and can help you get position if you have the time

Illfonic hates melee so much that it opens you up to the only stun in the game

Wait until you see the people that spin around and parry before the 2nd hit even connects. Combos are basically low-reward suicide once FT has put a certain amount of hours in.
0 point compared to ranged play that does the exact same thing (or AOE) better and safer.
Its bad game design but people will defend it.

I’ve seen quite a few predators that even if I get a parry in, the amouth of damage they do with the Scythe is insane. What I do right now, If I see certain weapons, I just get out of the way.
Then you have weapons that can’t be parried. Heavy from Katana and Axe. Use ghost with those 2 if you want to focus on melee but you’re going to have to actually employ melee with skill to be succesfull against decent teams.

I am sorry OP but if you get constantly parried, you’re doing something wrong. Also if you can’t hit targets because they bunny hope, you’re doing something very wrong.

PS. Any decent + predator can 1v1 a FT with melee. Parry is only meant to buy some time as the rest shoot the predator up.

PPS. I suggest you go here and see how people use melee effectively and replicate:

There are a few tactics on what to do if you get parried a lot as pred.
Like @Xan84 said, using heavy attacks out of cloak and then directly leap away is a good one.

Some people are known to be parry gods, even though the knife gameplay has been nerfed a lot since the beginning.
After the latest Patch, I can’t even do the fast triple hits anymore. (which was totally op, because you did 3 attacks in a second of which every could parry, while the remaining did damage.)

I have been playing FT recently and I will say Parrying is not the “win button” people seem to think It is

Yeah, but it’s quite a good tactic if you know how.
I used to play as a tank and parry Preds to bind them for a few seconds on me, so that my team could melt them easily.

You dont use combi, I’m guessing sincevtou said you use elder sword.

But if you’ve played dark souls, and you’re using the combi, pretend youre playing souls.
It will help you avoid the parry.

Aim to hit them with the very edge of your swing.
From the side, dont face them directly.

However be warned, only try this when theres 2 or less.

As if 3 or more are shooting at you while doing this you’re just gonna get two much health taken from you.

Good luck.

Oh also, which I don’t think anyone’s mentioned.
When ft uses a heavy stab, that ENTIRE animation counts towards a parry.

How much does Warrior Specialization reduce the stun time?

It’s both

Parrying is so much fun as fireteam. I killed two Scout predators recently just by parrying and knifing them when they tried to 1v1 me Lol.

I’ve been metagaming as sniper recon with proximity sensor mines, very squishy but on a computer it’s op. Smart clash players have been using their turn as Predator to keep as much pressure as possible on me so that I have no time to set up any shots. I can Parry one out of three hits but usually if they have irregular timing to their strikes it’s impossible for me to block more than one

Parrying is pretty easy once you figure it out and the Pred does consistent attacks.
Every Weapon has it’s own rythm and range, that’s all.
It’s basically as if you study the rythm of a dance, like a waltz or something.
