Not necessary for more than half the comments you made in there. I did not go on the attack and become toxic like you. From what you have posted in here, you have not contributed to any form of positive discourse other than waste people’s time reading your comment. I am actually none of those if you look at some of the stuff I have posted. Bring something to the table next time.
If saying that you are a “crap predator” player flamed you that hard, get some help. Obviously with everything you posted about “using traps” and that “only noobs get caught in traps” you do not know how to play as the predator at all and reinforces that you aren’t a good predator player, “sorry crap predator player”. Go on youtube and see all the decent predator players that use the bear trap. Obviously it doesn’t work well if you throw it right next to someone, but the good players tactically plan and place them anticipating where the FT will be. I have said this before, I’m not a great predator player, but getting better… I have had to relearn the play style that Illfonic did a good job creating something unique.
To all of you, I’m sorry but the hard fact is if you have a predator that is strong enough to run in and take out / down half to 3/4ths the FT (getting a kill or two) in one swoop the balance of the game is ruined and this game will fail. I really like this game and care deeply about it. Do I believe the predator should be strong, hell yeah, but I also believe a game in order to be fun has to have balance.
There are a ton of predator main players complaining that their queue times are extremely long. If it is not fun for the FT, it will only get worse. You need 4 times the amount of FT players for 1 predator player. Now does that mean the FT should just destroy predator? NO! But you cannot just make “an elite team” fodder so to satisfy predator players not utilizing any strategy. It has to be fun for those players to play so they can give the opportunity for the predator player to hunt. The reason the AI is so dumb against the FT is it goes into how Dutch’s team just wrecks the guerrillas in the movie. The AI is meant to be harrassive, and at times, difficult, but not much of a challange to the FT. They are there to create a distraction giving Predator the opportunity to hunt and capitalize on the FT making mistakes.
But understand the semblance of balance needed to make this a good and fun game.
FT 4v1 should almost always favor the FT… sorry that is a cold hard fact. If you break this, you break the game. Stop complaining that they “do not split up” or “stay together”- IT IS THEIR JOB TO TRY TO SURVIVE… it is your job as predator to strategize and capitalize when they make those mistakes, split up, only for a second, etc. I cannot tell you how many damn times as FT, that some idiot on the team runs way up ahead and starts doing missions without waiting for the team, and the predator in the match is still focused on three that are still together! Like what the literal F!
The balance is if the FT is 4 strong and together, it strongly favors them. As you go to 3v1, 2v1, then 1v1, the scale moves further and further to the predators favor. This is why the game was working. No it was not perfect, but this patch did way more harm that good.
That said, I have played quite a few games before this patch as FT (and with a good squad), and gone against amazing Predator’s that wiped our team a bunch of times. Yes we as a FT won a lot, but that was overwhelming against Bad Predator’s “just rushing in again”. No shoulder cannons to soften us up, no coming in when the AI was putting a bit of pressure on us, nothing - just when they felt it was right for them, when strategically it was the worst time, since our focus was on only them. Again, this is fantastic class /playstyle that Illfonic has created, and huge kudos to them!.. but it takes time to master or become skilled when you play something new. Is there any other class like this? Please comment on what game this character / playstyle is alike. As other people have pointed out, the game has been out a week! Why are we doing such severe and drastic changes already!!!
You have herds of boar now spawning. Predators are now just running out of the compounds, feasting, coming back in and going after full FT (killing one - taking mad damage, but not caring) because health management is not a problem now. They remove most (if not all med kits and ammo crates) on map and nerf how many field health kits the FT can carry yet throw a crap ton of boars (and dumb ones at that) on for the Predator? That is sloppy and lazy design to say the least.
FT chase and knifing needs to be fixed. Parrying needs to be fixed. Nerfing a grenade launcher to be worthless crap, just to make it so rushing predators (as their only stat) have it easier? C’mon. That’s just lazy. Second wind needs fixing. Hey here’s an idea… Why not give the predator an additional 33% move speed to get the F away. That way he can outrun easily, anyone moronically trying to chase him. But too the point - bad predator players: Stop running away but staying super close to the FT when you are about to die! Why is this a hard concept? If they buffed the Pred’s speed more, and they ran a decent distance, they couldn’t be found or caught.
Yes the shoulder cannon should be fixed when fully charged to down someone, and there are things they need to address with the Predators weapons (like why the club does less damage than the blades!) but this post in itself is already way too long. As I said, there were so many issues before all the garbage they introduced in this patch that needed to be addressed already.
