Yeah.
Turns out what I thought was my immune system disorder was misdiagnosed, I have an extremely rare type of leukemia that causes thousands of mastocyte microtumors to form in my blood, lungs, and skin, but they all die just as fast as they form, so large tumors can’t form and my organs remain functional. Essentially, my immune system and symptoms are messed up and cause a good deal of discomfort, but it can never kill me despite being technically stage 4 cancer.
I’ve had it since birth and it’s caused by a 1 in 30,000,000 mutation in a oncogene. I really am lucky I had the specific mutation that I had instead of similar ones, as other types don’t limit tumor lifespan and often kill the patient early in life.
