PETITION FIX vs CONTENT

Which like you said Illfonic as a team can’t do both, which is exactly right but dismissing the fact this was a huge franchise to take on. It’s Something they should’ve of learned in F13, and I mean before the legal fiasco and I would say that right there should indicate you need a well fit development team. I really do want Illfonic to succeed, absolutely I do! But I’m not ignoring that they are butchering their chance, yet again after f13. That’s all I’m saying bud

I know everything takes time and I’m not even close to being a professional here in video game development and stuff will get worked on (hopefully). I also don’t like how this is just so common among video game companies

Yeah they dropped the ball hard on F13 and then tried to use the lawsuit issues as justification. So far we’re doing better here yes but illfonic’s really good at making connections and then getting deals that are way over their head. They got booted off of Star Citizen after being outsourced for the FPS portion and ended up having all their work delayed then scrapped, whether or not that was because the work was subpar or conflicts with the engine is up for debate, but either way it was worth having all their work canned which is extremely rare considering how long they were onboard the project.

Their rep sucks and this is honestly their first big title with potential that hasn’t fallen flat on its face yet. I’m atleast waiting for this gamemode to drop before shitting on them for not rushing it though.

And it’s those experiences they just need to grow and learn from. They just slow. Lol

Fix, obviously. But the fix people are hard at work with all the bugs, and the content people aren’t going to stop working just because the fix people still have work to do.

I’m not necessarily saying they aren’t working hard on bugs, I’m sure they’re doing what they can i guess, what this whole thing leads up to is that maybe showing that their community can provide them with the insight to get a bigger team working on things. I also know it’s not that simple especially with this pandemic but it can point them into a direction is all I’m saying

FIX

But will they drop the new game mode and hope to God we forget the original Quick Match Hunt? What about the people who like the current mode and just want it to be fixed and expanded? Which comes first, fix the current joke of a gamemode or just drop a new mode and hope it buys them time? Because that’s what it feels like, that they’re trying to buy time but the only problem is WE are the ones buying that time for them with these DLCs which are actually lacking when you look at them realistically. Is it really a full and proper DLC if all it really is is just an altered class renamed and reskinned, a mediocre weapo ln and some shaders??

And if the new mode is a reworked and expanded version of what we already have, then wouldn’t it make sense to get the current game up to standard before adding to it and this creating even more potential headaches?

Yet…but they’ve already tripped on their untied laces, and we are all waiting for the inevitable faceplant.

Half these ppl won’t understand they’ll probably just say “there’s 78 ppl working on the game and they choose to make content” when this isn’t the case at all and 78 ppl is a very small amount in my opinion

Not to mention this game still has a ton of potential its slowly gonna be touched upon I like them slowly releasing stuff way more than getting a “complete” game

It’s just a little too slow. And can they really risk losing a huge fanbase to other more captivating, stimulating games that actually deliver? Or are they content to let this just be one of those games we dip in and out of for nostalgic dopamine hits? If they’re content with that, so be it but can they afford to do it though. I’m pretty sure the actual license holders aren’t going to allow this IP to be handled this badly indefinitely no matter how many back room hand jobs are going on.

Pretty much this. Its not meant for sinking 1000 hours into hence the lack of depth. They could very well just be aiming for casual play instead of ranked modes and such. Alas we dont know the devs vision for this game because the lead dev doesnt really seem to want to tell anyone, theres been like two interviews with the guy.

Yea i mean after this update a lot of ppl where pissed buttt I stilll don’t understand why

1.we got free alpha
2.we got new pred customization
3.new ft face paint
4.new weapons for free
5.the most badass pred is coming as a damn dlc

I mean in my opinion this is amazing but that’s just my view I can hold off without a gamemode or map 1 more month max

The new map and gamemode won’t be coming until after the four planned paid DLCs, their response to someone’s comment on the PS blogspot pretty much alluded to such. If they weren’t so fucking vague and ambiguous with their comments and posts, quit the cryptic bullshit and actually talked to us straight then that would be acceptable. But they want to play a guessing game based on patience, and most of us are at the end of our patience reserves.

Which post?
Tfw they even respond to psblog posts lol

Someone commented about there being no new missions and no maps, and that we are half way through the roadmap. They replied “Still 50% left to go though” which is ambiguous as fuck.

Now, consider that pre-Dutch DLC they themselves stated that there were going to be new mapS and gamemodeS, which we all understood as them saying they were going to expand on what we already have on a regular basis at least with each month. So far, nada. Now, City Hunter makes no sense in the current maps and missions but is confirmed as being 28ths Paid DLC content which should mean a more urban map to compliment the City Hunter, with missions based within/around it. But they alluded to much more than that before the roadmap begun, and given the current state of the game it’s going to have to come with one huge patch because not even the City Hunter with a mode/map is compensation enough.

The vibe I got from the way they responded to the comment was the expansions that we’ve all been expecting and asking for won’t start until after the roadmap. I could be wrong, and I honestly hope I am…

I seen a post sortov the same and a person asked “how come we haven’t gotten news on a new map or gamemode it’s half way through the month” and they replied with “well then the other half left to go😉”

Wasn’t that the response to someone asking about the july update saying they still had half the month to go?

Yup, that’s the one I read too…hardly inspiring, and not even confirming anything will happen in the next two DLCs. Like I said, City Hunter would be out of place in the current game so it’s got to have an urban/city map. And if that’s the case, we will all be relieved and entertained for sure and we will all be going hardcore with it. But a City Hunter themed map/mode can only do so much, and doesn’t adequately fix what we are all depressed about. Are they just going to abandon the current maps, and not add more missions to them? The maps themselves are pretty decent, they’re just lacking in the variety of missions available to each because there are a few missions that are just a blatant copy n paste of a base mission foundation that are tweaked a little bit to fit the particular map it’s on. The more we stare at these same maps and missions, the more glaringly obvious it is that they didn’t even spend much time on the current maps and missions. Now the dazzle of nostalgia has worn off, we see this game for what it is.

And I, for one, feel extra stupid for not seeing these issues earlier because my inner Pred fanchild was high on nostalgia when there were more experienced, serious gamers calling out the bullshit from week 1.

If this is what you understood then you have very unrealistic expectations. Compare it to a similar game, say Dbd, how often do they get new maps, 3 months give or take a couple of weeks. This is realistic when simply moving preset tiles and just re-skinning how they look. Let’s try another game RE-Resistance, about 2 and a half months between maps, again they’re mostly just cosmetics changes at this point.

Each month we have gotten comparable amounts/quality of cosmetics that each of the similar games listed above provide. A city map might take longer than the 4 months this road map is playing out over. The next section of roadmap might be different or set a standard of 4ish months between big map/mode drops. Like the other games listed we have to wait and see.
