Hi. First, no way you’re 190 playing JUST Pred, unless you have less of a life than you’re saying others do. Secondly, Katana doesn’t need a buff; use a stronger melee class. And stop using the base war club, use the new Hook. Thirdly, Preds are not 90% melee. I only attack with melee when I know they’re stupid, and I use Valk/Axe/Fearless 100% of the time. If I jump in and get lit up, I know I need to switch to caster and wear them down. Its not a hard concept to grasp. Sounds like you just had two bad matches and now you’re complaining. Git gud.

Lastly, chill out. Its a game. Stop insulting people, it does nothing good for you.

Caster used to be one shot.

I’d kill for a hardcore Hunt Showdown style pred game but no chance.

100% this.

I have seen preds try it, get lit up, and change tactics to tree ghost. Makes for great matches when the pred knows more tactics beyond “light melee spam”

I am sad I joined late and missed the caster being one shot dead…

I play FT most, that would have made for.some scary matches, beings forced to hide from the pred behind cover erc.

You could swing and throw it and actually get a kill and it was actually satisfying to use.

Its a bumpy-brain thing to be able to know how to attack the FT in different ways. What’s funny is 99% of these tactics are learnable just by watching the good players on youtube. Becoming good at this game, as Pred and FT, is honestly so easy its ridiculous.

And slamming used to be a viable option, especially against campers. Oh, and the plasma pistol was a meta weapon.

I hoped it was going to be this way when I got it.

Never thought it would be “shoot every thing 100 times before it dies”

Figured predator would be basically invisible but kill -able if you got a few.shots in, fire team would basically be cannon fodder but get to spawn in several times

Its still fun this way tho I guess

Well, here’s what you did wrong. Katana can’t be spammed in one spot, it doesn’t do enough damage to sit and just bapbapbapbap. War Club also needs to be used sparingly, only go for full combos when you have the upperhand; When they’re rezzing a downed player, interacting with an objective while they’re alone, calling reinforcement. breaking free from a Beartrap.

Katana, you have to use for hit and run. Try using a heavy then a light and then jumping away. Never go for the full combos. Just, onetwo and jump. Try softening with the caster before going in there, maximize the pressure of the bleed damage

yeah its just tedious now. nothing feels rewarding aside from solo magdumping melee potatoes.

you can still go play Clash and one shot people with combistick, caster, and enjoy increased melee damage but its a dead mode and they did the bare minimum with it.

I’m LV 178 litterally on a 9 sqaud kill streak, no helicopter arrivals, since those two deaths in the og post, not a single respawn,
Next time you get killed by a big red And gold samurai with Viking horns white aloha hair and red skull face paint, tell me how my nuts taste as I Rip your head off

I still really enjoy going up against the preds that stay in the trees and really use the cloak (when its not glitching)

I’ve had to tell a couple lol (dude your cloak is glitched I see you)

I guess they get focused on aiming and tracking FT they don’t notice cloak isn’t workin.

I notice you edited your post. Cute. I’m level 163 on a 43 squad kill streak. I…think, I lost count after a few months of not dying. Also I let respawns happen most of the time unless its a team I’m having issues with, then its 100% wipe.

Samurai class is easy to take down. I’ll be sure to ask how Dutch’s sweaty, muddy Reckless nuts taste after your katana gets parried enough times to turn you into a mush of green goo.

Your way of thinking is right, but it brings me back to my issue, both the beginning strikes for L2 and R2 with the samurai sword, are both forward strikes and rather slow and weak, if they were to simply make one of them a sideswipe as the beggining ATK, it would fix my entire issue with the weapon,
For instance if you’ve seen predators,
When the Yakuza fought the predator, who had a wrist sword, they ran at each other and cut to the side of eachother,
That type of move would work for your play style of slashing and running

Yes I understand I haven’t played the game recently but from what I’ve heard things haven’t changed and random squads are still a push over

Maybe not, but it’s fun. Occasionally I’ll get a team that really makes me sweat. One team actually killed me (should have gone for distance instead of melee opener) and I was like, nope, I’m done. (It was four Dante’s, three of them field medics).

Also I enjoy some honey roasted nuts, usually after a good plasma spamming.
