When was the last time you ever saw a video game like this where the devs who barely touch let alone play the game know more than players with thousands of hours on it?
Its obvious that Illfonic don’t have a clue what they are doing with the game due to the constant abundance of bugs & mostly terrible balance changes they have made over the years. It has been this way for years & they aren’t going to change. All they care about is how much money they get from their DLCs.
Illfonic don’t even know what gets changed in patches themselves. Every time there is an update they basically just say they dropped a new DLC Predator Class for people to buy & they might note a few random alleged bug fixes they made from time to time, meanwhile the players are the ones who end up finding all these random changes that weren’t mentioned in the patch notes & half the time we are left wondering whether it was an intended shadow change or a bug/accident. They have repeatedly proved over the years that they don’t have a clue what they are doing and/or don’t care.
It took them over a year to fix the “Super Fanatic/Reckless” exploits that allowed the Fireteam to literally take the Predator from full health to around 25-35% of their Second Wind health with a single SAWZ-50 shot. If Devs aren’t fixing a game-breaking bug like that almost instantly, let alone over a year later, it’s pretty safe to say they don’t care and/or don’t know their own game.
Take a look at BHVR Interactive with Dead By Daylight. It’s an extremely similar situation there, especially recently. You can find plenty of videos showcasing the issues there from this year alone. So many game devs don’t even bother to playtest their own games, let alone play them extensively.
Illfonic devs don’t even seem to play PHG outside of a dev build so more or less all of the alleged bug fixes they make in the patch notes are probably from the dev build & not even from the main game, which makes perfect sense considering these bugs tend to be random, extremely insignificant things that either nobody knew about or bugs that didn’t actually exist in the first place.
