hahahaha I love it when “hackers” claim they can wreck havok on your system if they know your mac address. Reality check, mac addresses are local identifiers that are only relevant inside your network. Mac addresses are not broadcasted over the internet. Only way your mac address is vulnerable is when you connect to public networks, where network admins (duh) will have access to it, or on your phone, since your phone basically functions the same as a modem, but phone operating systems randomize the mac address to mitigate that vulnerability. Windows now does that as well when you connect to public wifi

As for TV media, I think that the most accurate representation of actual hacker culture was a show called Mr.Robot. Your average normie wouldn’t really think too much about what they were seeing, but people who know would acknowledge how close to the bone it was. It worked really well as a casual series of entertainment while also portraying some real insights to the culture. And Elliot was a relatable character for many people, his struggles with DID and the pressures of being too smart were very ‘reassuring’ for me personally at least.
I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a great show (5 seasons, and season 5 is insane!!! The twists!!! OMFG!!) to give it a chance. The first few episodes take their time to establish setting, characters etc but then it gets wild. And I wonder if anyone figures out the season 2 twist before it is revealed!!

I swear, since I returned I have been having issues with inputs not registering. I’m not sure if there is some discrepancy between PS4 and PS5 versions, but back in the older Goldie days I could “parry you into next week motherfucker!” (Mardigan still taunts me to this day about that classic moment lmao). But since ‘upgrading’ to PS5 and playing 24/7 for three weeks now I am having nothing but issues with failed inputs, parry (R3) not working and other death inducing moments… I’m thinking of firing up the PS4 version to see if it is the game itself, the console or just me and my old age lmao
