I had a game like that. I was testing out a Zerker build and decided to take off the healing kit, to see if I really needed it, because I hadn’t been using it. Sure enough, the fireteam I got was well coordinated and there were no pigs at any point in the match. Ever.

It happens quite often.
I used to think it has to do with the amount of time FT spends in one camp, but I can assure you its not.
It might has to do with the amount of damage you have caused so far or how many you have claimed but not sure about that either.
Its definitely not the time spent in one place though for sure.
As in they were stalled at a compound doing objectives and you’re 100% certain you got 0 pig spawns at the usual locations?
News to me if so. Was 99% sure getting like 5 pigs to spawn in is a matter of FT getting stuck somewhere. It’s definitely not claims, If anything claims reduce the frequency of spawns. Once its in last man standing it seems like all the pigs have despawned, like its 1 pig per player. Don’t think its damage either because a couple pigs pop up around the objective a bit after you get there, even if the pred hasnt shown up yet.
Ik if theyre coordinated and speedrunning missions it will despawn pigs faster than they appear so you only end up seeing like two the whole game along a road somewhere then FTs at chopper by then so its irrelevant. Pigs aren’t viable vs coordinated teams anyway they seem to just punish teams that are already doing poorly and taking too long to do missions, granted it gives you an opportunity to go contest the pig spawn and if you find the pred locked in an eating animation hes dead or his mask is gone.

Yeah, FT at the same camp 4-5 mins and I found just 1 pig all this time. And nothing else after isolation scanning.
Yeah I dont thing its claiming or damage.
At this point I think its just random.

Pig spawning seems finnicky at the larger compounds like the FTs not quite in radius. Wheres the small ones like the one with the tree in it and the water always have pigs because the spawner is right ontop of the FT mission objective.
Pred seems to have its own pig spawn but on a slower timer, or leaping despawns it hard to tell. If I see solo pigs I tend to assume its mine & a pigs spawned per player.
u have no idea what a good ft will do… you can land everything… hit everything… and it wont matter cause they are doing the samething
There is a bug where they fall through the floor and into oblivion forever…it happens at least a few times everytime im on that map 😒
I’m not reading all that, but if its another thread about balancing, I just say this, cus I feel like ranting too:
The main problem with the FT is the amount of damage each member is able to do to the Predator, the rest I don’t have much problem with. But the damage its just too high in my opinion. Once I was doing a private match against someone that is considered a top tier Predator, he killed 2 of us, just me and another player who is considered a top tier fireteam were left.
He came at us at the reinforcements and the 2 of us were enough to make him retreat to heal before he could get any of us down. You know why ? Because he missed an arrow shot and the time it takes for him to give the next arrow shot that could make a difference was enough for us to melt him since hitting as FT is just easier, even 2 fireteam can outdamage a Predator at close range, fast plasma shots close is only enough to win 1v1, for 1v2 the damage its not enough. Combi throws and arrows shots are enough to outdamage 2 fireteam up close but only if you don’t miss, as Predator to win in this cenary you just need to never miss, just cus there is 1 Predator Player in the whole world with insane aiming for combi and bow that can win most matches against top tier fireteam without shooting plasma through most of it doesn’t mean the game is balanced. The fact that there are so few Predator players that can put a fight against 4 PC premades should say something.
Even with Predator specilizations in that situation it wouldn’t make difference cus they are all situational and in that case fervert, tactictian and analytic wouldnt be working to give the Predator the damage boost necessary to win, and yes Fireteam specs are better than Pred’s.
Savage Berserker, Anything Ghost and Elder Stalker beg to differ. The rest of the specializations are kind of meh though, I’ll admit. At least for my taste.
Yup. There are teams that make even flawless predators lose. That’s just the thing about this game. There is so little room for mistakes as Pred when facing top tier teams.
How is using savage gonna help outdamage the fireteam? It won’t. He is getting second wind before he can down anyone. Ghost maybe if you get luck with the tracking you might get one kill. If you miss you are getting second wind.
Would having a specialization that gives 20% damage reduction help?
I was also interested in a pred gadget that gives 50-75% instant heal. 1 per game. Would it help? Or would that be an overkill?
If it stacks with impenetrable and ironside lol. I would try a spec like that.
We already have pigs for “instant heal” I guess, of course sometimes they disappear. But if Illfonic wants to add a gear for Predator that gives like 50% insta heal I’m fine with it.
The insta heal would help him to continue the pressure without retreating. Its benefit would be most felt against premades in the moments like you described. Same for the specialization. It would have to stack, otherwise it would be useless. Just so pred can last a bit longer on the attack.
I don’t mean for directly dealing damage. I meant as specializations that are actually useful. Savage is pretty good, if you aren’t playing against four Rangers lol. Obviously Ghost and Stalker are the bees knees right now.
Or what about a gear item that grants a ten second damage reduction of about 80% and you only get one per match, as it’s unaffected by the large pouch? Ten seconds might be too much though. Would need some proper testing. It would basically be like an adrenaline shot for the Predator.
