So, from this description we can start to infer a few things:
- Predators continue to alter their DNA mixing it with that from the most worthy prey they encounter
- Sometimes, experiments fail. Dek is likely an experiment that resulted in too much human DNA in the mix and therefore is a runt, smaller, weaker, unworthy and more humanlike.
- That’s probably why he looks the way he looks and why it will likely will have more “hero” traits. Remember heroes are a human thing. Courage is driven by emotion, not rational thinking.
TBH, I like the “woke” (whatever people mean by that shit) look. I don’t want to see a Predator hero. Is not what the damn thing is supposed to be. They are not making a villain protagonist. If they make the predator the hero of the movie, then they might as well not fuck up my JH 87 and make it a pu$$y and instead make a new pu$$y predator that is different enough from the rest. Last thing I want is a badass looking pred that ends up riding Toruk Makto and liberating a planted from slavery.

predators 2010 got away with the genetic shenanigans, but because they made the predators in that movie badass and intimidating. now we have shit like The Predator 2018 and now whatever madness is going to take place in badlands
technically, Dek is a bad blood, because in Yautja culture the DNA mixing crap is against the honor code. the super predators altered themselves to enhance strength, and they were bad bloods. fugitive and upgrade altered themselves, and they were from a known bad blood clan (fugitive just happened to decide he liked humanity). hence forth, Dek is a bad blood if his DNA is indeed combined human-yautja.
kind of reminds me of star wars. bad bloods took the quicker, easier way to power (like the sith) while honorable yautja trained over decades/centuries to improve their skills and physique (like the jedi)

If the movie ends up not justifying his appearance with any of the inferences listed would that change your opinion? As far as the dna splicing being the reason he looks so bad. As for a “woke” look idk why ppl started throwin the political aspect in vs jus sayin it looks terrible. Although some of the michelle obama comparisons and stuff was pretty funny.

The whole DNA splicing gimmick was scrapped from the 2010 movie entirely & recycled for the 2018 movie. Hence Fugitive is part human & Upgrade is a genetic freak.

the “woke” look is alien to me as well. I have no idea what people think “woke” looks like.
Maybe if it had rainbow dyed dreads and claws I would call it “woke” and see it, but just having a viking like hairdo doesn’t make it woke to me.
Thas fair, for me i just cant get past how bad it looks. Ill prolly watch it if it streams the week after but if not ill prolly go see it but more of whats came out has me not really excited for it.
