Predator biology

Now this is a post for me!

Lore wise, we know very little about the Yautja biology. However given several context clues from the movies, their characteristics, and designs, we can speculate a great deal of their biology.
As someone who has studied biology and microbiology for years, I take a great deal of enjoyment in xenobiological speculation!

Why

We’ll I’m happy your happy but I’m curious about the biology because of how the predators we’ve seen look different also specialize in different things.

It was their tactics, weaponry and armor

Didn’t the directors say it was a young queen ?

Oh, so curious about subspecies and variations that we’ve seen?
I’d classify them into 3 main groups: Classics, Supers, and Feral.
Classics: JH87, CH97 (albeit a different race of classic), Greyback, Scar, Celtic, Chopper, & Wolf.
Supers: Mr. Black, Falconer, & Tracker
Feral: Feral

The Classics are the baseline species of Yautja, and the most common. Most preds will fall into this category. CH97 has enough differences in color, pattern, quills, & skull shape that I would classify him as a Classic, but a different race. If you want me to speculate on why the Yautja evolved the traits that they have, I’d be happy to.
The Supers are the normal yautja, but on steroids. They likely evolved on a separate continent or other isolated area that required the Yautja to be larger and more durable, with the extra strength and endurance being a result of what is needed to sustain the larger frame.
Feral is …well Feral. Being the only example of his subspecies, he appears to be like most Yautja in his body and physiology, but his head structure is greatly different due to his subspecies likely evolving isolated on a smaller area, likely an island similar to the Neca Scout Predator. The thinner but more predlocks may be adaptations that give him heightened senses compared to the normal predlocks. The face was likely an adaptation that arose to a unknown stimulus, but it gave more benefits for survival in those isolated conditions than the standard Yautja face. I think he is his own unique thing rather than a hybrid between Classics and Supers because of the thin but many predlocks. This is a trait that neither have.

Yep, and they also said it was not 😅 I shit you not, they contradicted themselves in different interviews about the Predalien thing

so,
let’s just observe the movie and ignore their statements, it’s for the best
(and watching the movie it can’t be a young queen
A- because it doesn’t have the four little arms
B- because the reproductive system is totally different

it could be said that’s it’s a Pretorian, but those come from the expanded universe, and even in this case they never infected hosts in such way, etc etc).

It could be, we really don’t know.

Every option is valid, they could have evolved naturally, they could be like that for because of a different environment of their species, or any other reason

PERSONALLY I like to believe that they modified themselves genetically, The Predator (2018) style (but una different way of course), because it would connect the dots
(and it was a idea present in the original script of Predators (2010), the genetic modification thing).

Only explain to what I can think of is maybe it evolved into it’s own version of a pretorian with a mutation to reproduce that way since there wasn’t a queen around but idk.

Yeah but would be just an idea without any solid ground

the only explanation that would make a bit more sense with what we know of the lore, it’s that the Predalien got the reproductive system of the yautja species,
because as said the xenomorph tends to assimilate the “useful traits” of the hosts,
and maybe the yautja species has a high functional reproductive system, that the DNA selection of the xenomorph decided to insert into the Predalien traits:
that’s why it only infects females, and why only the Predalien has this “never seen in any other movie” ability to reproduce.

Yautja reproduction is through the mouth…

But why?

@420Eatmyshorts this is why I will commit self Feral tonight

Fair question
who knows

aliens species can be weird I guess?

Anyway not that is an idea I particularly like, but still it’s the most logical seen the information we have and not have.

I’m not even in the conversation but I now I am. Lol
Im just trying to catch up on stuff. Lol

Maybe, it would explain why they look different but I don’t think theirs enough difference in ability for genetic enhancement.
