Predator Match Wait Times...

I not an Aussie mate and not going to take corrections from a person that calls a Samurai Predator a “ninja” and waists forum member’s time arguing something off-topic.

From this point forward your comments will be ignored unless they actually worth discussing about OP.

What’s even the deal with this “beta” insult? So ridiculous…

But regarding the topic, how would a gamemode with 2 preds and 2 FT’s shorten the matchmaking time? Its the same just… bigger.

A new Predator came out today, a LOT of ppl want to use him, which is why que times are so high. And that’s always going to be the case as the majority of ppl who bought this game bought it to use the Predator. We need more maps and cosmetics before any new game modes as additional game modes aren’t really needed for Asym type games. Dead by Daylight being a good example.

I think the easiest way to ease up queue times is to implement the same system they used in Friday the 13th.

Because more of the population would be able to play as a Predator per match. But I think the easiest solve is that @IllFonic does away with public match Predator and Fire Team selection.

It should just be Quick Play and players have a 1–in–5 chance of being the Predator. It takes 30sec on average to connect as a Fire Team.

Players would get to be Predators more often than waiting more time than what it takes to play a single match.

@Exanguinate mentioned we could set Preferred selection in Menu like Friday the 13th where players can set FT, Predator or No Preference.

Yah that’s system would help out a lot more, they did the same thing with evolve too. Just have people choose their preferences (of course it’ll be mostly preds) that system would help the lobbies more

Yeah, we understand that. But it doesn’t make sense to wait nearly the length of a match to be thrown into a lobby with one FT member and then wait in that menu for nobody to ever join and the single FT member that’s there quits before things even start.

When on the other side we can connect to a match in 30sec — with that being said, if a player is sitting in an empty lobby as the Predator it should take at most a minute for FT members to populate.

I’m sorry that I want to play as the predator but taking my choice away isnt the way. You can hop right into a game as the killer in DBD so it can be done.

But it doesn’t seem to be working with this game, that’s why the way they did it with Friday the 13th is a good solution.

Set the Predator as your spawn preference which will make you more likely to be selected as the Predator each public match rather than waiting and waiting and waiting.

Yea no argument there, ur absolutely right.

Nope. Like a bunch of ppl have said, it’s stupid. Let ppl choose. I understand waiting sucks.
But this late into the game it would be a horrible decision.

The solution would be to make ft cooler and more fun, but hard to do without making them too strong.

The lobby system from Friday the 13th is already available for private matches. I don’t understand why they didn’t implement it for public matches too.

This current matchmaking system is just not working out. There’s only so many times one can play cannon fodder for Pred and i sure as fuck don’t want to queue endlessly for Pred matches either.

This shit should have been addressed several patches ago. All it has accomplished is turn people away from this game and rightfully so.

I think for QM it would be beneficial for the lobby to stay open at the end instead of booting everyone. That way if you played someone you like you can quickly start the next match. Might even make some new friends along the way…

I agree, again similar to Friday the 13th — the only thing that sucked with Friday in that regard was if the host left, the lobby fell apart.

If @Courier they made the game assign a new host when the current lobby host leaves players would not be spending all this time waiting for matches. And as you said might foster friendships over time.

I wonder why the matchmaking system does not seem to scale? Isn’t there a lot of tech out there that make this trivial these days? Their matching parameters must be over complicated? Is the Pred/FT player ratio really that imbalanced to cause such a wait time? Do they really not have enough servers to accommodate?

Could be both.

The thing that makes sense is the estimated wait time. After the Samurai Predator release for me the wait time was 9–15min to get into a lobby; however, after getting into said lobby it was empty or had 1 FT member.

What doesn’t make sense is after getting to that stage, the wait time for the lobby to populate with FT members should occur quickly. But it doesn’t, for me at least, if I am placed in a “dead” lobby with 1–2 other players or empty, it never s fills up. I’ve sat there for roughly an hour in that lobby screen and nobody shows up.

Majority of the time if I see that scenario, I just quit and go back into the wait queue.

put a limit of many games you can locked as pred and put a penalty for quitter and you will see that queue times will not go over 3 min for every one

Pred queue times split in half if 2 modes exists so there would be less time passing by to get in the next match add another game mode and youll see that you get matchmakin like FT
Its all about supply and demand

We all play a unfinished game wich devs definetley know is that if they keep pushing paid dlc stuff with just a new class and weapon in it we would buy it like jackass we are … i hope illfonic is not playing with the mob cause it could went in a complete wrong direction if they keep pushing stuff as i earlier mentioned.
THIS GAME NEEDS MAPS AND MODES
