He didn’t obliterate any headcanon. He obliterated 30+ years of ESTABLISHED lore and even contradicted his own fucking movie several times all in a crude effort to try and undo as much of Aliens and all that inspired as possible because he’s possessive and hates that somebody else did it better than him. The man can’t write lore to save his left fucking nut.

Illfonic is not allowed to speak about upcoming content due to release schedules, the I.P holders, publisher, and the potentiality for delays or scrapping of plans.
The only ones we’re sure they wont do is the characters from The Predator due to childish reasons of not liking the film no matter how useful to the gameplay loop.
The AVP content is difficult to say but it’s likely they fall under a different license given that license is how Fox itself has separated continuity with Alien, Predator, and AVP all being its separate entities due to legal constraints. No, nobody told anybody in charge of continuity either. So despite it being relevant to Predator solo continuity and is meant to be canonical with it, is unusable without the extra license.
Various concept art of Predators do depict them with an AVP style spear. Various weapons like the plasma pistol are also inspired by the designs but of course aren’t actually them. You can also see helmets which are meant to be characters like Celtic and Wolf with Berserker seemingly inspired directly by the AVP set. Seemingly it’s a licensing issue and while the plasmacaster has been found and the shuriken it’s not meant to actually be used by Scar.
This is speculation territory here but it seems in all likelihood that they didn’t have the budget for the AVP license and so took Scar assets and simply will use them for their OC Cleopatra. We know she will come with the Shuriken and will need a plasmacaster likely using the rig intended for Scar. Scar also doesn’t have a unique roar so there was nothing needed in terms of sound to carryover especially given females have their own roar anyways. The shuriken was allowed to be used since it’s in The Predator freeing it up for solo material but since the OC is Illfonic’s priority rather than literally anybody else from the films or EU the weapon went to Cleo.

Well, I mean, it WAS Freddy’s hand that reached out and dragged Jason to hell in Jason Goes To Hell. Also, apparently Evil Dead is in the same universe, as in the same film, the Necronomicon can be seen, plus two comic series have been made putting Jason, Freddy and Ash together. It’s also a strong fan theory that Jason continues to keep coming back due to the book’s power.
The point is, people have been trying to combine franchises for decades, using little Easter eggs or subtle references. I’m all for the Pred and Alien films sharing a universe, but, I’d prefer it would relate more to the other available media, not the movies.
This made me laugh.
Everybody agrees the two movies are mediocre at best and that’s being very, very forgiving. The vast majority of AVP fans recognise AVP as a good thing for the health of both series because of the 30+ years of comic history and all the really fucking good games the brand has produced, remember the AVP Jaguar game is the only thing of merit on that entire console and the AVP Arcade game is a beloved classic in the beat 'em up genre and let us not forget how AVP Gold & especially AVP2 from 2001 are some of the most beloved FPS on the market, and not to mention the numerous toy lines and continuous lore expansions it has given. Everybody just talks about the two shitty movies because mainstream I guess? Like the average joe will watch a movie, they won’t read a comic, etc.
Which is depressing, because the movies should be more forgotten and the previous sources of lore brought to the forefront. But like you said, more people will sit with a movie for an hour and a half than read a few trade paperbacks for the same amount of time.
No, fox studios is the off branch of dianey, notice its not 20th cw they fox studios. This was done so that thier mature content will be under fox studios. Its a real suttle change but yea its an off shoot of Disney kinda like Miramax was mature content for Disney.
